“ Also the Inadequacy of the RCC Priesthood ”
I am trying to refrain from commenting on Gil's sermons, because being a member of IHCC others who aren't may think I'm "gilding the lily." Those who are official commentators may ask why am I adding to the summary? Look at the main summary, for the very important reason it gives what Gil wants emphasized! Sometimes there are what some might consider secondary threads in Gil's sermons, which many of you would find extremely interesting. In this sermon, there is a rare mention of Church Fathers usually ignored by most pastors, and examples given where some of these "Fathers," went strangely wrong. Finding any good commentary on at least some actions by some Church Fathers is difficult. Gil gives a fine explanation of where several of the Fathers were wrong in connecting Christ to the Levitical priesthood. So given a listen to this sermon, for that reason! I have found a learned commentary about Theology Adrift of many of the Church Fathers, q.v., http://bible.org/article/theology-adrift-early-church-fathers-and-their-views-eschatology But such articles are not that easily found. Also, interesting this sermon, and the one following does an overall excellent job explaining the folly of the Romish priesthood.

“ Great Sermon!--Not for the Dull of Hearing ”
Gill at the beginning of this sermon, points out a few recent articles, where pastors are encouraged "to go Methodist," (my words not his). They have such short sermons you would never even know you heard one. :-7 As Gil pointed out, he got rid of the 40 minute sermon years ago, this being one of his typical ones that nearly runs an hour long. You don't short-change your congregation or condense God's Word. My comment here may or may not last as long as the thread of "Flipping the 40 Minute Sermon," but this sermon deals very well with appetizer sermons that contain very little substance.

“ Great Sermon! ”
Gil, completed his comments on the false high priest, the Romish Pope, about six minutes into the sermon. He spent 17 minutes pointing ridiculous aspects of the Romish priesthood. He looks at the comments of Luis Palau "the Billy Graham of Latin America" on what a great Christian (?) Francis is! Gil points out the delusion of the idea that Roman Catholic Church and it's Magisterium as the official interpreter of Scripture. It's an oxymoron saying there is an Evangelical Catholicism. The Romish Church has kept its false ideas and it not accepting salvation by faith alone. The Catholic idea of having to go to a priest is diabolical, blasphemous manmade idea, and denies the truth in the Book of Hebrews in which Christians come directly to Christ. I like the comparison that Gil makes between the true Gospel and the false gospel of the Roman Catholic Church. Hebrews 4 14Having therefore a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast the confession. 15For we have not a high priest not able to sympathise with our infirmities, but tempted in all things in like manner, sin apart. 16Let us approach therefore with boldness to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and find grace for seasonable help.--Darby Version

“ Great Sermon!--especially on Pope Francis ”
Gil, points out the term, "Evangelical" is almost meaningless, since many who call themselves that ignore Christ, faith, and grace alone. From an article in "Christianity Today" Gil points out that it doesn't matter what one believes, as long as you do good deeds. Gil has done a good job of pointing out the difference between a professing church and the true church. He has pointed out that the new Pope is a pagan that worships Mary. I'm glad that Gil spent half the time on this sermon pointing out the errors of the new Pope such as asceticism-- not that this Pope is living at a poverty level! Gil has pointed out the wrongs of ecumenism on both on a national and local level. This sermon will give you what is wrong in ignoring the true values of the Christian Church, such as faith only in Christ and in being a Judaizer and in thinking that works are what defines a Christian. I think we might as well declare the Dalai Lama a Christian, because of his great personality and his good works! I find him to be a much more likeable than any Pope.

“ Great Sermon! (on James 2:1... ”
It seems to be the proper sermon. Five minutes into the sermon you see that Gil does begin James chapter 2, and I assume (Hey! I don't have a perfect memory, and didn't listen to the rest of it.), but covered the verses mentioned.

I think you may have accidentally linked the wrong sermon with "Showing Partiality is Sin". I would like to hear the Sermon for James 2:1-13. When you get a chance, can you please update the link? Thank you!!

I thank God for your ministry that holds true to the immutability of God! I am ashamed of those who profane the holiness of God's name by ascribing to lies.

What a wonderful message! I pray others who are so emphatic not believing the promises from the God of the Bible would take note and listen to the truth, instead of fabricated fairy tales.

“ Wonderful Sermon!! ”
This sermon addressed the validity and responsibilities regarding the office of an evangelist accurately. It's a thorough and concise teaching which also edifies pastors and teachers to diligently labor for the LORD. By the way, I wholeheartedly agree with the pastor that there should be NO retirement or days off from serving the LORD :)

“ Great Sermon! On Israel's Partial Hardening ”
There seems to be a great deal of confusion on how Dispensationalists view the salvation of the Jews, this sermon, and the one with the above title as given in the Comment title, I would hope would settle the issue. During this present Church Age no one saved except by recognizing, John 14:6: Jesus says to him, I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father unless by me. (Darby Version) We Dispensationalists know this, and I would hope others would realize this!

“ Great Sermon! (Kabob?) ”
I never saw a kabob at an IHCC church dinner! I don't think we even had kosher meats! We do or did have a kosher processor in Nebraska, and I don't like for the way animals are slaughtered in that fashion the same technique the Muslims use. I would suggest that you listen to Gil's sermon at: http://www.sermonaudio.com/sermoninfo.asp?currSection=sermonssource&sermonID=92402115618

“ Great Sermon! on Israel's Standing with God ”
Gil had a great sermon today (Nov. 1, 2010) for the introduction of Chap. 9 of Romans. I wondered how it compared to this sermon that he preached two decades before. I was very pleasantly unsurprised in the similarities! Gil, like other good expositional preachers, uses the historical, grammatical, literal method of Biblical interpretation, listen to: "Principles of Bible Interpretation" http://www.sermonaudio.com/sermoninfo.asp?SID=92206122515 So, I'm pleased and not surprised that the major points of the sermons were the same. If the same verses were covered by any pastor who practices a coherent and accurate biblical interpretation either if he were just down the street from IHCC or on the other side of the world the sermons would have sound remarkably similar because that is what God would want. So, give both sermons a hearing, and you will find out that God does have a plan for Israel and He will neither abandon the nation Israel nor Christians, if He abandons one He can just as easily abandon the other.

“ Great Sermon! ”
As ever Gil's sermon really blessed my soul, as well as teaching me deeper insights in Gods breathed Word. Gil as a faithful servant/shepherd is passing on righteous truth here for the building up and maturing of God's flock. One day i shall be able to thank him. Peter

“ Great Sermon! ”
Even Jesus couldn't do great miracles in his unbelieving home town. You will undoubtedly receive from God according to your faith, it is unlikely you will pray, believe or declare the miraculous power of God. Therefore, sadly, you will miss out on the terrifyingly wonderful experience of his mighty works. Please prayerfully reconsider the scriptures and the logic behind your position. A known prophet, Agabus, informed Paul that capture and prison awaited him in Jerusalem. Certainly the gifts of the spirit operated beyond the original Apostles in the early church, how much more do we need them now. God has often givne me supernatural knowledge leading to breakthrough and repentance in those I pray for and minister to. I have received insight from the Spirit regarding some stranger I would soon pray for. Healing, repentance and saving faith have resulted and lasted for the decades since the experience. Please let God out of your box. Risk your reputation and pride, your education and paradigm and watch Jesus come through for you and transform your restricting theories into repeatable supernatural experiences for his glory. Blessing and great joy be to you and yours!

“ Has the perfect come? ”
Do not be discouraged! God still works miracles among us. This is the heritage of every believer in Christ. Those who declare otherwise are not experiencing all God intends for you. It also gives us an excuse for not praying for the sick or attempting great things in the Kingdom.I have seen "small" miracles when I pray. (instant healing from pain and sickness, deliverance from demons etc.)God will have his way and display his glory; somewhere, somehow, despite any doubt individuals may have.
