The world is deteriorating around us. The world is under the judgment of God because it has rejected Him. As part of that judgment God has turned those in rejection of Him over to their darkened hearts. Believers in contrast, who have received Him and His message, are to stand out as lights to the world. In doing so we will suffer tribulation in this world. The peace in our hearts and minds doesn't apply to our life in this world. There is no easy optimism in the New Testament, but rather we are to be prepared to suffer conflict and opposition. Not heeding this repeated warning in Scriptures causes one of the greatest dangers to believers, and it comes from the inside of the church not from outside of it.

[Departing piecemeal from an exact scriptural road leads to complete destruction.] Saving Western Civilization is putting ecumenism in modern garb. Emphasizing sameness between diverse groups leads to the corruption of God's Word and what He intends His people to be, and be doing.
