Distrubing Sermon! Distrubing is the word that came to mind as I heard this sermon. The Pastor painted such a horrific picture of a false teacher, from the Scriptures, that I felt sick in body and spirit. This is truly an excellent sermon. I feel sick just thinking about them, false teachers, and pray that God will continue to protect His people from such, in fact this sermon stirs me up to pray more ferverently about this everyday. The sermon titled "Teachers-True and False" goes well with this message.
Great Start! If you are interested in studying the book of John this is the place to start. After listening to this you won't want to miss out on the rest, I sure don't.
Sobering Sermon! The words of Peter, here in 2 Peter 2:4-9, should strike everyone with the fear of the Lord, dread for the wicked and holy reverence for the righteous. Peter doesn't mess around. The facts are there, God didn't spare the sinning angels, the flood, Sodom and Gomorrah. God destroyed the earth once to prove He will do it again. I liked this sermon, it was very straight forward and informative. God has a purpose for every individual, the wicked will surely be punished and the righteous will surely be deliveder. The teaching on Rev.12; 20:2-3,10 and Luke 8:26-33 was very good.
Great Sermon! This is part of a series of sermons on 2 Peter, all the sermons are excellent and worth listening to. What a blessing to keep learning about our great God.
Really Great! Wow! This sermon has so many good things to comment on I don't know where to start. The expounding of Cain, Balaam and Korah was very interesting. The explanation of how 2 Peter 2:1 is misused was very good. I learned that Romans and Eph. are good companion books on theology. That Jude and 2 Peter are good companion books. The importance of knowing your Pastors. False teachers are among us, they are not as obvious as one may think, we need to be very careful. I hope others will be blessed by this sermon as I was.
Great Sermon! This series of sermons on Pilgrim's Progress is excellent. I really encourage everyone to listen to it. It will be an on going in depth study. What a blessing!
Great Sermon! How truly blessed we are in Christ. This is indeed a great sermon. The beautiful gifts that God gives to His children are awesome: life, love, righteousness, forgiveness, abundant life here and now with provision and protection, set apart as God's favored people with a high and holy calling, eternity set before us in all it's glorious splendor, on and on for all eternity with our precious Savior, how great is our God.
This sermon is a part of a series of sermons on 2 Peter by Pastor Marquedant all of them so far have been a blessing, I've learned a lot. I'm sure the rest will be beneficial as well.
Great Sermon! Learning about the history of the church has been a great blessing to me. I would encourage everyone to learn about the past and to learn from the past. The series of sermons done by this pastor on church history are excellent.
Great Sermon! How do we make our calling and election sure? Can a true Christian lack assurance of salvation and still be a Christian? Does having assurance mean that you are saved? These are good question and ones this sermon answers. I liked what the Pastor said about needing reminders and using math as an example of how we think we know something when we really don't. I also liked the story of the basketball player. I like the comments on vs. 9 about the blindness not being total blindness, I thought it meant total blindness. Also, how people say the sinners prayer over and over again seeking assurance and how sad that is. I could go on and on there are so many good things to comment on in this sermon; the stuff about Luther; that there is not a distinction being made between calling and election etc. I hope everyone will listen to it and be blessed by Peter's last reminders to the church.
Great Sermon! There are so many good things to comment on for this sermon that it's hard to know how to encourage others to listen to it. The verses from 2 Peter 1:5-7 are thoroughly expounded. I like the example used in explaining that the 7 character traits mentiond are like cords of a rope, that we are working on all of them all the time and not something we arrive at and then move on to the next. I thought the warning to not engage in stoic or victim mentality was very good. And that we must work diligently at love or else we wouldn't be exhorted to do so, a deliberate love, sacrificial for the others good. Finally, that these traits are our responsibility as God's children, they are born in the gift of faith and end in love.
Great Sermon! I loved the summarization of this book, the Pastor did an excellent job. I also liked to see the similarities with other New Testament books, it's amazing how perfectly God's word fits together. The Pastor pointed out that verses one through four are the faithfulness of God and not the responsibility of man. It is good to see that that is true of those verses. I liked where the Trinity is seen at the end of verses one and two, I have never noticed that before. God's love really shines forth in these four little verses, this sermon really brings that out. I pretty much skimmed over them when reading, not giving them much thought, I never realized how much I was missing.
Great Encouragement What encouragement this sermon was to me. There is so much joy in the reality of God's justifying work, through Christ, in our lives. Just the word justified should bring a big smile to every believers face and heart, it sure does mine. Great sermon I'm looking forward to part two.
Great Sermon! It is interesting to think about the church a thousand years from now. I really liked this sermon and hope and pray that the church will be just like this a thousand years from now to the glory of our great God.
Great Sermon! This is a really good sermon, I pray that everyone would listen to it. Modest, Gentle and Quiet, Your Prayers be not Hindered, and a Life of Submission to God are excellect sermons also.
Great Sermon! I wanted to comment on this sermon again because it's great for pastors and laity alike to hear what are the right and wrong reasons for entering the ministry. This series is very good.
Great Sermon! Oh, the wonderous love of God, I love these sermons on God's covenants. How great He is. What love the Father has for His children. I hope every believer has a good understanding of the covenants, it's good to teach our children about them also.
Great Sermon! I enjoyed learning more about Samson's life, I didn't know there was so much misinformation preached about him. I learned a lot from this lesson about life and God, the interaction between God and His people, Samson's parents are ineresting also. I'm looking forward to hearing the next sermon in this series.
Great Sermon! There are 13 sermons in this series on the 1689 2nd London Baptist Confession of Faith. I just want to hear more and more because I'm learning so much. The indepth, detailed studies are excellent. God's word is timeless and so is this confession of faith.
