Exceptional Sermon! Everything about this sermon is excellent from start to finish. I learned so many things that I never would have thought of, like why and how legalist do what they do. Some Scriptures were made clear that before I didn't understand, like verse 42 and 44. The correct meaning of "touching a burden with one of your fingers." from verse 46, I would have never known the correct meaning apart from this lesson. I would like to hear this sermon again. Thank you Pastor Steve for this exceptinal lesson, very practical and a great blessing to me.
Great Sermon! Another good sermon from Pastor Steve. Since hearing this sermon I've been consciously aware of a question that keeps coming to my mind. The question is: am I a hearer only or a doer of God's word? Wow, I've been convicted and encouraged to order my life around God's word and not just hearing and nodding my head in approval that what I hear is good, holy and righetous. What good is that if I don't practice what I hear? Jesus' exhortation to the religious leaders of His day rings in my ears "Woe to you hypocrits!"
"...Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy. Nothing is covered up that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known. Therefore whatever you have said in the dark shall be heard in the light, and what you have whispered in private rooms shall be proclaimed on the housetops." Luke 12:1-3 I think this sermon may evoke the same response in others.
Great Sermon! If you've ever wondered about demon possession, if it still exist today, this sermon will help. There is a lot of good information here especially about Jesus. The ending is a remarkable account of human depravity, verse 34.
I love this Sermon! There are so many good comments to be made on this sermon that I couldn't possibly make them all here. What I can say is that Christ is so glorified in this sermon that it's now one of my absolutle favorites.
Great Sermon! The series titled 'Difficult Verses Explained' is such a blessing. There are 5 very short lessons (this one is only 6 minutes) each one has helped me to better understand what are truly difficult verses.
Encouraging Sermon! This is an excellent sermon. I agree with the Pastor that our society believes that Christiany holds women back, when in truth it "...frees women from the tyranny that both unbiblical male dominance and modern feminism thrusts upon them". I would like to encourage men and women alike to hear this lesson. We really need to know the truth so we don't fall into unwise attitudes and judgements. I'm encouraged that God values me as much as a man, it was good to be reminded. Is it Biblical for a woman to be a pastor? Is there a Biblical office of Deaconess? These are relevant questions that are answered in this sermon.
Great Sermon! "...Unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day." John 6:54,55 ESV This is an incredible thing our Lord said. The various responses are interesting.
Great Sermon! This sermon is excellent. I recently listened to it for a second time because there is so much good to be learned from it. It seems in our day we need to give a defence as to why we joyfully obey the 4th commandment!
Insightful Sermon! I appreciate Pastor Steve's insight. Never before have I heard these verses of Scripture preached together, always, they have been separated and taught alone. It's usually the Mary/Martha sermon, the Lord's prayer sermon, and the sermon on persistence in prayer. It's beautiful to see how all these verses actually go together to give as a better understand of what God desires of us in prayer. This is also the best Mary/Marth teaching I've ever heard before and I've heard a lot of them. This is an outstanding sermon!
Great Sermon! May man be humbled and God be exalted. Salvation is His plan, His work, His righteousness, His victory, His choice, His mercy, His grace extended to His people who can do nothing of themselves for they are dead apart from His love. I love this sermon and hope many will hear it.
Great Sermon! Hooray! Finally part 2 is here of the 'Bread of Life' discourse. If you are thinking of listening to this lesson, I would encourage you to listen to Part 1 first. You won't be sorry that you invested the time to do so. These two sermons gave me a much better insight into the feel and motive of the crowd as they sought after Jesus and help me to see my Savior in a deeper way. I'm really grateful for this blessing.
Great Sermon! This sermon has helped me a lot. I'm reminded to check myself, my attitudes. I hope not to lose sight and fall back to my old ways, but to keep pressing on for the Lord's name sake and my good. I know all of my relationships will improve as I turn from this sin. Funny, I have a list of sins that I always fall into even though I hate them and fight against them. They are pride, selfishness, works, idolatry now I can add being judgemental to the list. I am the wiser also, for now I have a better understanding of these verses and how they appy to civil government.
Great Sermon! Recognizing the holiness of God sure does nurture a proper fear of God. This sermon is very good, God is Holy and we should fear Him. I listened to the "Precious Blood of Christ" by Pastor Steve Marquedant and believe that it goes well with this semon because it teaches about having the proper fear of God. My fear of God can get out of balance sometimes. So, I'm glad for both of these sermons.
Outstanding Sermon! I whole heartily agree that a proper fear of God is missing in much of the church today. This Pastor says "The fear of God is best exhibited when we remember that every thought, word and deed is done in the presence of God-who is everywhere and nothing is hidden from Him." We best remember who our God is and fear Him in love, because of the precious blood of Christ. The first time I heard the phrase "grace abuser" I thought to myself, what a horrific term that is, I never want to be that! This sermon has helped me to examine myself and see if I am worhiping God in the manner that pleases Him, according to His word, and for that I'm so grateful. Prasie to God and His Son the Lord Jesus Christ for His precious blood.
Great Sermon! It's interesting how Jesus dealt with this man. I liked this sermon. Pastor Steve says "Legalist always find a way to keep the law." what a hard life it is to keep the law. What a deception to think one can. Our Lord's compassion shines through as He shows this man his heart's need.
