Excellent Sermon! Good advice about avoiding a judgemental spirit. Great encouragement to battle against besetting sins and the constant temptation from Satan/demons who can't make us sin but can tempt us. Jesus is our great example. The paraphrase from "When Grace Comes Alive" was very, very good. This is an excellent sermon.
Great Sermon! We need to be reminded about just how much we have been forgiven and this sermon does just that. It's excellent and is a real help in encouraging me to forgive others.
Great Sermon! It's an amazing thing, that sincere men of faith would teach God's people a lie to keep them from sin! How can it be?? This sermon is a great encouragement and a reminder of the things we hold dear, the things most surely believed among us, sound doctrine, the gospel of Christ and the truth that will prevail until the Lord comes. I Liked this quote "The Reformed faith is more than Calvinism it's a world view that sees everything through the prism of Scripture." I can't wait until next years sermon.
Great Sermon! I think it's hard, at least for me, to understand justification as a one time act for the saved sinner because it goes against my sinful flesh. I keep trying to deserve what I already have, "acceptance" from God. Christ accomplished this but my flesh makes me feel like I need to add to what He has already done. I end up with filthy rags of unrighteousness instead of good works to the glory of God. Oh, to rest in Christ. Oh, to be out of this body of flesh. Come quickly Lord Jesus! This is a good sermon.
Great Sermon! The book of Esther is a great comfort as we see God at work saving His people. If we are ever in doubt about God being in control this book will remind us that He is in control even to the most mundane things of life like not being able to sleep through the night and needing someone to read to you :)Pastor Marquedant does an excellent job leading us through this book.
Great Sermon! "Our God is most just because He is the source of all justice and the one who ensures its continuance." This statement is a great comfort. Our God is truly perfect in justice and mercy. This is one of my favorite series of sermons.
Great Sermon! This is an excellent sermon and an excellent series. I appreciate the depth Pastor Marquedant has gone to in teaching this very important lesson from our Lord.
Strong Meat! Finally a preacher who doesn’t try to explain away the doctrine like John MacArthur Jr does while explaining Romans 9:13. Here’s a quote from MacArthur – "With regard to Esau, I say, nowhere in Genesis does it say that God hated Esau, it doesn’t say anywhere that he hated Esau. It was only after Esau had chosen sin and abandoned God, for many many years, over a thousand years, before God would look back and say "Esau have I hated". By that time it was clear to all where Esau stood. So once the sinner is inexorably, and finally identified with his sin, then the sinner feels the hatred of God.( GC Audio Tape -70-11).
There is nothing offensive about God hating a man after he has lived out his sinful life. But the scriptures under consideration do not teach that God hated Esau after he had chosen sin and abandoned God but long before that.
The College professor who warned Pastor Marquedant was right – “Calvinism is true-but never teach it-because it will kill your Church!” Reprobation is strong meat which only regenerated souls will receive, the rest who are playing Church will trample it under their feet and turn around and rend you. A man pleasing, ear-tickling preacher can never preach Reprobation as revealed in Scripture. God give us more preachers like Pastor Marquedant.
Great Sermon! I've heard all 11 sermons in this series and everyone of them is outstanding. I highly encourage everyone to hear all of them. What a blessing!
Great Sermon! This was a much needed message for me. I would like to hear it often so as not to lose sight of what comes out of my mouth. I'm really grateful to be taught what is right. Great Sermon!
Great Sermon! "The wicked prowl on every side, When vileness is exalted among the sons of men." Ps. 12:8
This sermon was very encouraging in light of what is going on in the world recently. Our Lord will arise!
Great Sermon! This sermon has been such a blessing to me, I hope I will always remember what I learned from it. How great is our Father who is in Heaven!
Great Testimonies! I rejoice with the hosts of heaven and the saints on earth over the great work our God is doing here in saving sinners! I recently heard someone say we're saved by works. I thought to myself, amen to that. we are saved by works, the works of Christ. All glory to our great triune God.
Rom. 11:33:36!
Great Sermon! It's true that none of us pray enough, this sermon is a great encouragement to pray! May God bless our efforts to seek Him. Rom. 11:33-36 :)
Great Sermon! This sermon couldn't have come at a better time for me. With so much uncertainty in our world today it was just the encouragement I needed.
Great Sermon! I realized that I'm trying to find comfort from something other than God and it's only making matters worse for me. Pastor Steve said, any comfort outside of God bears reward in a negative way (paraphrased), it's so true. Like trying to find comfort from drugs, alcohol, sex, food, etc. Instead of finding comfort there is a lie. A deceiving hope of comfort, that is fleeting. There is no true and lasting comfort outside of God. This sermon has helped me a lot.
Outstanding Series This series, 3 part, on anger is so good. I was surprised to hear that there are 500 verses about God's anger and wrath in the Bible. God is angry with the wicked everyday. God hates the wicked and He is just in His perfect anger. God's wrath is not the opposite of His love. God's wrath is the perfect reaction of a holy God against sin. These are just a very few good things I learned in this series.
Great Sermon! I found this lesson and the other on the life of Ulrich Zwingli very interesting. We can learn so much from those who have gone before us.
Great Sermon! I don't want to be an angry person. This sermon helped me to see the need to check myself often to see if I'm sinning against God with my anger. This is an excellent message!
