Hermeneutical principles. Useful presentation of hermeneutical principles in the interpretation of these anthropomorphic passages, as a refutation of the erroneous interpretations of Open Theism.
Great Sermon! I love this sermon I've listened to it three times. There is so much wisdom coming from this lesson and so much good information about God our Father. I have never before thought grief, over our sins, could be a disciple. I've never heard anyone say that we stand before our heavenly Father as our judge everyday, although I've believed it. We do go to the judgement seat everyday and nothing is hid from His sight. It's there that God's sanctifying work is best done, as we confess and repent. See 1 Peter 4:16-18 and John 5:24,25. There are just too many good things to comment on, you'll have to hear it for yourself. Great Sermon! My Father IS God! Amazing!
Great Sermon! What wonderful words of love are those found in Psalm 116:15. That our death is precious to our Lord is such a joy to my heart. This is an excellent message, take the time to listen, you'll be glad you used your time to be encouraged in the Lord.
Great Sermon! I wonder if homosexuals being permited to marry, isn't something Mormons welcome, because this will make it very, very, easy for polegamy to follow? I think Glenn Beck has already succeeded planting the lying notion that Mormons are Christians in the minds of a lot of people. How very important it is that we be good Bereans. Praise to God that He works all things to His glory.
Important Message! Indeed, Glen Beck could be called justly an Ecumenical Anti-Christ, because he has a "different Jesus". It should be noted that the Jesus of Mormonism is derived from its ecumenical and philosophical twin in Freemasonry, where a social and political savior is in mind. This is perfectly consistent with Beck's Mormon teaching of the Founders, most of which were Freemasons or Deists, or of a Unitarian doctrine, i.e. acknowledging the humanity of Jesus Christ (for popular approbation), but denying his Divinity (as does Mormonism too) as well as the inspiration and authority of the Bible (as Thomas Paine, Jefferson, et al).
This Beck also unites with the Jews, and pays absolute homage to Modern Israel (of secular Zionism, not the theology of the law and prophets), complete with hints of "sheep of another fold" Mormon teaching that includes "Jewish fables and endless genealogies" (as Paul warned Titus) in a kind of American-Israelism. This dangerously leads to Statism and false Ecumenical America worship (idolatry).
John's epistle says that whoever denies that Jesus Christ (God's anointed) is the son of God (of divine nature) "is an anti-Christ". This Judeo-Masonic and Mormon teaching does, wrapping Jesus in an American flag, dangerously.
Great Sermon! I appreciate the insight Pastor Marquedant has on Glenn Beck. Most people don't know he's a Mormon and are surprised when they find out he is, I was. He started out ok, but now he is a convoluted mess. He talks more and more about God all the time. I believe, if he weren't Mormon, he could start his own church and lead it, how scary is that! I heard him quote Gandhi today. I think Glenn Beck is a very dangerous man too.
Great Sermon! Wow, so many things pulling at me from the world and the flesh. This sermon is a great encouragement to honestly go to the Lord in prayer, for examination, as to what is really going on in my heart. Thank you Pastor Jeff. Praise to God that He loves us and will help us, that He remembers we are but dust.
Great Sermon! This sermon is very good. I'm given to fear man, something I'm ashamed of and battle. Now I have it at the forefront of my mind and by God's grace I will fear Him more than man. Thank you Pastor Massey.
Excellent Sermon! This sermon started out with an excellent introduction. The explaination of the word elect and its proper usage is good to know. Very good information about definitive sanctification and progressive santification. I have never before heard of the sprinkling of the blood of Jesus linked to Lev. 14:1-3 but I agree that it is most likely the best meaning of what is taking place. This pastor really spoke from his heart, saying any church that strays from the doctrine of the trinity have erred on salvation as well. Great Sermon!
Needed Sermon for Today! With all the talk of "justification by faith", sola fide, etc., Keach presents it all so much differently than modern pastors and theologians. More than this, he exposes the error of the Puritan Richard Baxter, which he proves to be a heretical and false doctrine (and quotes John Owen to refute him also). Must hear all 4 parts.
Also, after reading many Puritan works about seeking salvation (which Keach does not contradict entirely), it can be observed that "decisionism" and "making covenant with God", etc. by the Puritans, pre-dated the modern ideas of "making a decision for Christ", the "sinners prayer", etc., which now prevail. Could it be that the doctrine of justification and the New Birth has still entirely been misrepresented and distorted for a very long time, by the most orthodox?
Ben Keach is a breath of fresh air, and provides good personal counsel for true seekers so as not to have either a "presumptuous faith" (easy believism, mental assent), but also not a "preparationism" faith, which turns "means of grace" (so subtely, for Keach does not deny the use of means) into a form of "works" for salvation.
Is the new birth not truly a mystery, and wrought of God, like the "wind that bloweth where it listeth"? This is the Marrow of Evangelism lacking today.
Great Corrective Sermon! This sermon from a worthy historic Baptist preacher sets straight the true teaching and refutes the modern day error and heresies based upon this much abused text, which people have quoted as their basis for the Humanistic philosophy of "equality" for "all" (as if to remove all distinctions, races, sexes, and stations in persons) and Democracy's "equal rights" which takes "no difference" universally, and over-literally, missing the sense entirely.
This sermon refutes those Socialistic errors which first appeared in the 19th century and are still believed in churches today by defining who "all" is, and the what the passage actually teaches. (R. L. Dabney refuted these same errors in his Anti-Biblical Theories of Rights using this text).
The end of the sermon is even more helpful, demonstrating and instructing in how to seek salvation in Christ, contrary to evangelistic notions of modern Christianity.
Great Sermon! This mini series has been such a blessing to me. I was raised in dispensationalism, so trying to get the truth of God's word straight in my head hasn't been easy. Pastor Marquedant is a good teacher. I feel like I have the truth settled securely in my mind now. It seems so obvious to me now, oh how I hate fales or mistaken teaching of God's word. I'm so grateful for these lessons from Romans and I'm looking forward to the rest.
Insightful Sermon! I'm blessed by the insight brought to these verses of Scripture. I never would have understood the significance, to the Jews of John's day, in regards to verses 31 and 36, if it weren't for this sermon. Praise to God that we are ever learning and for those He has blessed us with to teach!
Great Sermon! This was a very good sermon, sorely needed, at least in my opinion. We always need to be reminded of how much we are loved and hated. Thank you Pastor Jeff.
Excellent Sermon! Romans 10:9 is often quoted as magic words to save sinners, or a work that can be performed to save the soul. This teaching is so very good, explaining the full meaning behind the words. There is some good teaching on the law also. Excellent Sermon!
Great Sermon! The Potter and the Clay has become quite popular these days. I notice a lot of figurines in the Christian bookstores, and online, bringing attention to these verses of Scripture. I believe the popular thinking about the Potter and the clay doesn't go far enough and this sermon will show that. There is a superficial view of how God is forming us from these verses, but the main point is missed, especially here in Romans 9. This is a really good sermon it gives the hearer proper understanding, or I should say, it teaches the full extent of the meaning of the Potter and the clay. I guess some people will hate this sermon because they can't accept the truth of God's absolute sovereignty.
