Great Sermon! "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God." Matthew 5:8
What an amazing statement that is! Over the years I've had so many wrong ideas in my head about that verse. This series on the Beatitudes has been an encouragement to me. Thank you Pastor Massey.
Great Sermon! It's amazing how much controversy these verses of Scripture have caused. I'm grateful for those who can handle the Word of God rightly. Great Sermon!
Great Sermon! This sermon really brought home the importance of remembering the past. God set His people forth as an example for us, how important it is that we pay attention to those things that have gone on in the past. If they had only known how they would be on display for every succeeding generation to see, they would not have done the things they did. If they only would have taken God at His word and trusted Him, they would not have had the wrong expectations. May we not repeat their mistakes. Verses 12 and 13 are so good to sum up everything said, especially vs. 12 "Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall." Praise to God for vs. 13, may we take Him at His word.
The Beatitudes The Beatitudes, a different quality of lifestyle than the unbelieving world. These principles of conduct are to be desired by every Christian who calls Jesus Lord. A work of the Holy Spirit in us if we submit to His will. A child of God who's relationship to God is close, will have purer motives out of love for God. One who is truly born of God sees these attributes as characteristic of kingdom life. Truly out of gratitude and love for God, we will live the gospel before others. Thank you Pastor Jeff, for again expounding great truths of scripture, in a way that is applicable to our lives.
Great Sermon! The Beatitudes remind me to except nothing from self, but everything from God. The principles of conduct. Sometimes I liken it to a barometer in measuring, if I am allowing the Holy Spirit to work within my life, a desire to be holy in heart that my motives be pure. Thank you Pastor Jeff, for the gift that God has given you in expounding the word of God, in a way we can understand.
Great Sermon! This is an amazing testimony to the love, provision and providence of our God. Everyone has heartache, some more than others, here is the story of great heartbreak and the sustaining, healing hand of God upon a young, married couple's life.
Great Sermon! It's heartbreaking when Pastors and their families suffer because of a lack of knowledge and obedience to God's will from the congergation. It is also sad when Pastors are paid an exuperant amount of money. This is a very good sermon on what is right, what is Biblical concerning pastoral support.
Great Sermon! There is so much more to the beatitudes than I realized. Especially that they are characteristics of a true believe in Christ Jesus. Makes sense, I never put them together as definitions of my daily walk with the Lord. But I can see those in my life, not always. I will never know the "pure in heart" this side of heaven, that's for sure.
Great Sermon! There are so many good points brought out of these verses. The truth of the Trinity is there. The foolishness of Pharaoh's army. The constant struggle we have against sin. The baptism mentioned being of a new identity, with a new leader. Paul, speaking to the Gentiles, uses "our fathers". On and on, so many good things brought forth in just these few verses. Many other good thing to learn are here in an excellent teaching from God's Word.
Great Sermon! This message, on the beatitudes, is excellent. They are very often misunderstood. These characteristics should be true of every believer, everyday. You have to hear both messages, this one and the next one "Blessed are those who Mourn/Meek". I can't wait until the next one, blessed are those who hunger and thrist for righteousness.
Great Sermon! 1 Cor. 19-23 are verses so misunderstood by many people today ("...I have become all things to all men, that I might by all means save some.) it's sad. The past couple of months, Pastor Marquedant has been teaching on Christian liberty, if you have time, it would be very well spent, to listen to all the messages, they start with, I believe chapter 7. There is an outstanding body of work here to bless God's people. Praise to God for the freedom He has given us in Christ Jesus our Lord, may we use it to glorify Him.
Great Sermon! Something said in this message, "...God's design, anything other than that is going to be a problem, anything other than that is going to have sin attached to it, anything other than that is going to cause heartache." is a soild rock truth. Excellent message, outstanding series.
Great Sermon! What we believe about God is everything. This quote fromt the messge is something to think about. "You can't believe in God's sovereginty without believing in election, and you can't believe in election without believing in reprobation, these are necessary consequences of one another."
Great Sermon! It's good to be deeply rooted in truth, truth revealed to us by God Himself. So we are not tossed about by every wind of false doctrine. This is an excellent message about love, how we are loved and how we must love, about God's love. The title is a good question to know the answer to, especially with Rob Bell's book being a bestseller.
Great Sermon! I'm glad I heard this message, it's good to know what the Scriptures have to say and not what men have to say. It's a shame when this office is misused, and it's a shame when deacons are misused. Everyone should know what the Biblical office of deacon is all about.
Loaded Sermon! This sermon is loaded with great answers to some question like...Why did Paul have Titus circumcized but wouldn't, for the life of him, allow Timothy to do the same? Is N.T. baptism the same as O.T. circumcision? Does Paul's word carry the same weight as Jesus'? What is the present distress that Paul is talking about? Is it always right to say the time is short? Not to mention the encouragement we have from the freedom God has given to us in Christ. Excellent sermon full of sound doctrine, useful for the edifying of God's people. Thank you Pastor Marquedant!
Excellent! Please send this message to anyone you know who thinks the rapture is this Saturday. How sad it is that many have been deceived by this false prophet. He already proved himself to be wrong yet many are believing what he teaches. This is an excellent message to comfort God's people who might be mislead.
