John UK wrote: Churches desperately need to evaluate or re-evaluate their position of the role of women in God's plan. It seems to me that part of the great falling away is a slipping of standards regarding things like this, and denying a biblical warrant for all that is done in or out of a church context. I strenuously encourage my fellow believers, whether men or women, to stick very closely to the Bible, the word of God. And also to listen to and obey the Lord Jesus Christ, the Word of God. Amen, and God bless the saints. Especially my good friend and fellow Pilgrim from Florida.
Thanks Pilgrim for your comment. Yes, the roles of genders have been so watered down over the years. Now if someone says women were created to be wives and mothers and helpmates, they are ridiculed and called misogynists. Satan is certainly alive and active!
Hope you are doing well my dear brother in the Lord!
Whenever you have a husband and a wife earning separate incomes, then normally that household lives off both incomes. That means that usually the situation doesn’t change. 2 incomes, 2 separate retirements and 2 heads in the family. If there are children involved, then those children will be partially raised by someone other than his/her parents.
“Generally speaking” a woman should be dependent on her husband for her support; not the other way around. Our churches give lip service to this concept; husbands gladly compromise; and wives think they are somehow enjoying a godly freedom.

I post it on Facebook or any other website that allows photos whenever the subject of Pence's faith comes up. For Pence to stand there with an unrepentant sodomite desecrating and mocking God's word is disgusting and maybe blasphemous. The video of Pence meeting with and worshiping the anti-Christ of Rome from a few days ago is just icing on the cake. Mike Pence is the textbook example of a "Christian politician", isn't he?
Thanks brother for your kind and wise comment!
It has always confused me as to how easily the genuine church of our Lord accepts the rich and famous as being in the fold. All compromise is sinful and all of us compromise on occasion, but “all” politicians live lives of compromise.
Romans 6:6 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
Romans 3:8 And not rather, (as we be slanderously reported, and as some affirm that we say,) Let us do evil, that good may come? whose damnation is just.
Yes, the road to salvation is narrow and few be that find it. This world temporarily belongs to satan and is getting more antagonistic towards the true gospel and against righteous living. One day the Lord will return and put things right!
Luke 18:8 I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth? (note: IMO rhetorical question)
2 Timothy 3:13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.

Amen to your comment!
Very difficult to raise children in environments like this. Scripture clearly teaches we should not withhold physical punishment from our children. But if we comply we might lose custody and whatever wealth we may have. The below Proverbs is very clear and so is the Acts verse.
I am glad that I don’t have this dilemma, but if I did I would hope that I would spank my children when I felt it was necessary.
Proverbs 23:13 Withhold not correction from the child: for if thou beatest him with the rod, he shall not die. 14 Thou shalt beat him with the rod, and shalt deliver his soul from hell.
Acts 5:29 Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.
John UK wrote: The most wonderful Lord Jesus Christ agrees with you, Frank. Or should I say, you are in line with the teaching of the Lord Jesus Christ. My little group studied these verses only a few days ago, and it was most rewarding.
Hey Pilgrim! Yes, I knew we would agree on this. There are so many verses that discuss wealth and the evils of loving money more than our heavenly Father. The rich man loved his wealth, but a poor man can improperly love what he has as well. It is indeed a heart issue! The below are verses that always remind me of that.
Proverbs 30:7 Two things have I required of thee; deny me them not before I die: 8 Remove far from me vanity and lies: give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with food convenient for me: 9 Lest I be full, and deny thee, and say, Who is the Lord? or lest I be poor, and steal, and take the name of my God in vain.
Yes, it is a heart issue. Your verses were outstanding as usual!
Dr. Tim wrote: I think everything that can be said about Franklin Graham has been said. I have never even heard one of his sermons, and don’t much care to. I’m pretty sure he’s a compromiser just like his dad was. I just think it’s ridiculous to reject him just because he has money. But if Jim had an honest bone in his body he’d admit that the real reason he hates FG is because Graham is guilty of the unpardonable sin of being white. Incidentally, I HAVE heard MLK preach, and as far as I can tell the only “gospel” he knew was the social gospel of the elevation of black people. Hell will be full of his converts.
Good comment Tim! Wealth is a heart issue. Someone who is poor can be greedy and someone who is rich might not be. Lots of biblical examples. Wealth is simply a "warning" sign.
Most perhaps don't know that MLK did not believe in the trinity.
He also admitted to committing adultery when he traveled and simply said God wouldn't want him to be lonely.
Whether or not FG is saved or will be saved is entirely up to our Lord and Savior. But, I am able to and supposed to discern his supposed walk with the Lord. (his theology and works)IMO, he is simply an evangelical politician. He supports and promotes the catholic faith which means he is supporting a cult and leading many astray.
He is the epitome of a cultural christian; notice the small c.
Officials at the venue, however, announced Friday the event would be scrubbed from the schedule because Graham’s views — particularly his biblical interpretation of marriage as a union between one man and one woman — are “incompatible with our values.”
The above is from the article.
In order for someone to conclude that scripture in any way condones homosexual behavior or marriage, they would have to be guilty of eisegesis in the extreme. It would be the same as saying David was a man after God’s own heart; David committed adultery and murder, therefore it is okay to commit adultery and murder.
But they spoke the truth when they said it was incompatible with their values.
John UK wrote: Thank you brother and fellow pilgrim. It is always good to have fellowship with those who understand these things. Is it possible to be a Christian and a politician at the same time without compromise? No bro, you are right about this; it is not possible, the two are incompatible. Amen to the truth! The emergent funny people can undermine truth in the same way that higher critics tried to undermine the Bible. But all they are doing is hurting themselves and others; self harming and promoting it. Such nonsense.
Thanks Pilgrim/separatist! Yes, there are things that I believe so strongly that I would gladly die for them. Here is a cute way of looking at it. If someone says there are no such things as absolute truths, simply ask them if they are absolutely sure of that and then smile.
And I agree completely with your comment about politicians. They not only knowingly and willingly compromise God’s word, but they do it for their own personal agendas. One of my pet peeves.
John UK wrote: AOG, thank you for your post. I don't know if you saw my initial comment, but I am saying that President Trump is sinning, simply for no other reason than that he is unregenerate. Of course he will be proud in a negative way. Surely you do not expect him to have the character of a Christian, when he is driven by his sinful nature? Sodomites and unregenerate presidents all go to the same place in the end. Do not be fooled by all the political magic and church/state nonsense.
It looks like if someone espouses a truth and doesn’t allow room for doubt, then they are not espousing a truth but simply their version of the truth. I remember reading years ago where the emergent church stated that if Christians disagreed on a subject, then no one could claim their view was absolutely true.
We are to judge the works of professing believers. Hillary, Obama and Trump all say they are born again and in the faith. Every one of our posters will deny 2 of these three are actually saved.
It takes about 24 hours for a sperm cell to fertilize an egg. When the sperm penetrates the egg, the surface of the egg changes so that no other sperm can enter. At the moment of fertilization, the baby's genetic makeup is complete, including whether it's a boy or girl.
The above is from the internet.
And just think; the DNA code at conception would fill several hundred thousand pages if printed.
So, when does life begin; at birth or when pain is felt. A rhetorical question.
John UK wrote: Mike, when the Bible says there are none that doeth good, no, not one, God is saying that there is not one unregenerate person who does good; all is tainted with sin. Jesus is obviously talking about regenerate persons who have been adopted and now have God as Father. Such are most certainly able to do good, indeed they are predestinated unto good works, and they ought be doing all the good they can.
I haven’t read through the thread, but I do agree with your comment. Scripture says the following:
Matthew 7:18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
John 15:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
I look at it this way. Someone can do something moral and it will not be spiritually moral; a wolf in sheep’s clothing.
Jim, you have no idea just how silly and illogical your comment was. You are saying it is okay to murder an innocent life because another life may or may not come to know Christ. If you can’t see that is playing God, then you truly are brainwashed and a supporter of murder. Your life of the mother thing is covered below.
"When the life of the mother is truly threatened by her pregnancy, if both lives cannot simultaneously be saved, then saving the mother’s life must be the primary aim. If through our careful treatment of the mother’s illness the pre-born patient inadvertently dies or is injured, this is tragic and, if unintentional, is not unethical and is consistent with the pro-life ethic. But the intentional killing of an unborn baby by abortion is never necessary."
There are so many scriptures that note a baby in the womb is alive and in some instances it noted God directing its growth. Note: in the womb, not outside and breathing.
The baby that Elizabeth was carrying leapt for joy when Mary came near him carrying our Lord and Savior. Recognition and understanding certainly support a living human.
Luke 1:41 And it came to pass, that, when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost: 42 And she spake out with a loud voice, and said, Blessed [art] thou among women, and blessed [is] the fruit of thy womb. 43 And whence [is] this to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? 44 For, lo, as soon as the voice of thy salutation sounded in mine ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy.
I remember when Obama was asked when life began. He said: “that is above my pay grade”. And yet just like Jim, he was willing to still sanction the murder of those in the womb and I might add even those that were outside the womb; aborted alive.
Note: “slew” in the womb. You can’t slay something that is not alive.
Jeremiah 20:17 Because he slew me not from the womb; or that my mother might have been my grave, and her womb [to be] always great [with me].
The Quiet Christian wrote: Except, Carl, that "SS" is on an arm band as they come to your "rescue," Nazi socialists that they are. And the rescue they offer is slavery to the state. This is critical race theory in a nutshell. It's quite unBiblical and quite the rage right now. A friend of ours mentioned that a niece went off to a supposedly Christian college but came home fully embracing this theory and quite ashamed. If we're honest, there are things our forebears did well and some things we'd rather forget. But to paint one race or group against another race or group is beyond the pale. It says we are all guilty for the sins of not only our forebears but anyone else in their group.
The only group of people that can’t claim “victim status” at some level are white males. Most don’t realize how long this has taken place. When I worked, if a Hispanic, female, or Black were denied promotion, it was always because of their sex or ethnic background; never because of skills, etc. I know this to be true because they filed complaints.
Taking personal responsibility is getting rarer and rarer.
You and I both would agree that at the judgment; this silliness won't be raised.
God’s creation is so clear, absolutely no faith at all is required. Isn’t there something like 100-125 billion galaxies with each containing approximately 100-200 billion stars? Now that must have been one big bang! Speaking of the big bang, isn’t it odd that satan has told the evolutionist that nothing has existed from eternity past, except the matter that is necessary to prove one of his lies? God said He had no beginning and they ridicule the thought.
Satan knows that whoever or whatever we deem to have no beginning and no end will be revered by mankind, since by logic our existence is derived from it or Him. We are fighting a spiritual battle, not an intellectual one!
If we were slightly closer or further from the sun, we would all die. If the earth’s revolutions slow down slightly our gravity would disappear.
Praise the Lord that His creation is so clear to us who belong to Him.
Montana law requires officials, including clergy, to report child abuse to state authorities when there is reasonable cause for suspicion. However, the state’s law exempts clergy from reporting when the actual or suspected abuse is discovered in the course of a confidential conversation—such as confession—that is protected by the clergy-penitent privilege.
The above is from the article.
I can’t remember where conversations between clergy and those in a particular church were considered sacrosanct in scripture? Anyway, if clergy or a fellow believer knows someone has committed a crime, they should report it to the authorities.
I am open to scriptures that go against my thought.
