All politicians in the U.S. have to run for office under the premise of pluralism.
Here is what pluralism really means. If someone says that faith in Christ is essential for their individual salvation but not necessarily for someone else’s then they have logically said it wasn’t essential for them, but was simply a matter of personal choice. The world has told us to think this way in all spiritual matters. So it is not uncommon for someone to apply a moral standard to their own lives, but not to the lives of others. That is moral hypocrisy of the highest order and simply deludes the lost into reducing God’s moral standards and requirements to personal choices, and if a personal choice then they can’t be binding on anyone. This personal choice fallacy is one of the characteristics that separate the true church of Christ from all others. Pluralism is simply spiritual polygamy. There are lots of worthy husbands and Christ just happens to be the one I chose. But, I’ll sleep with whomever I want!
For any naysayers; how many politicians will say that all those not in Christ will suffer His wrath.
Mike wrote: Warning: sarcasm. We may need to rewrite some scripture, so as to fit it in with the new, safe Christianity. Otherwise how to reconcile culture with faith? Hebrews 10:25 could be an appropriate place to start: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, (unless the magistrate or the governor says to forsake) as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more as we see the authorities approaching.
Yes Mike, I agree with you. If anyone in society says we shouldn’t worship according to our understanding of scripture, we should tell them why and then ignore them. Serving our Lord and Savior is not a negotiable concept.
Acts 5:29 Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.
Romans 14:23 And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.

One of my prayers for myself is that the Lord would give me grace to die, unafraid, unashamed and not entangled in the affairs of this world. IOW, as a Christian soldier.
I’m glad you saw my point and I just prayed that you and your loved ones will endure to the end, but at the same time I know with certainty that you will.
I have actually been amazed at the ability of the government to restrict what we do. Businesses that wanted to close where told no and businesses that wanted to open were told no. Businesses were ordered to make medical equipment and attending church was a crime and punished. And of course, this control list could go on and on.
In the end times, the antichrist will demand that everyone must have a mark and pledge allegiance to him. I have often pondered how it would be possible to control the world. This pandemic makes me understand how that could happen. Those who do not have the mark of the beast will be unable to buy and sell and will be hunted down and killed.
All it takes would be a global cause to unite the world against our heavenly Father. Most people will do anything necessary to survive.
China is in a position where it can completely ruin our economy. Therefore whatever truths these politicians note will go nowhere. Generally speaking as long as a politician says something they are deemed successful.
A communist country as we all know doesn’t care about the lives of their citizens. Their leader is now a dictator, so he has nothing to lose.
The below is from the article:
“The Chinese government is the world’s largest drug dealer,” says Senator Tom Cotton. “China has allowed fentanyl and other synthetic opioids to pour into the United States for years, killing tens of thousands of Americans.” Democratic Senator Chuck Schumer agrees, saying, “We must hold China, currently the world’s largest producer of illicit fentanyl, accountable for its role in the trade of this deadly drug.” Their Fentanyl Sanctions Act was included in the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2020.

I trust you are being extremely sarcastic Jim. Shirley you would not seriously call a pro-murder, pro-socialist politician an excellent public servant! Isaiah 5:20 says, "Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!"
If I am right, Jim grew up in a matriarchal culture. That means that women leading is something that he naturally accepts. And, the more liberal a person is the more Jim promotes them. When Hillary ran, he once said she was a paragon of virtue compared to all the other candidates. Just think about that!

Yes brother you are so correct!
On the other hand, it’s also the perfect vehicle for Planned Parenthood to promote social change by utilizing its well-meaning prevention education to proselytize youth toward sexual promiscuity and abortion.
The above is from the article.
I will simply say that Planned Parenthood does nothing with “well-meaning” as it goal. Yes, they do want youths to be more promiscuous because that means they make more money.
Isaiah 3:12 As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths.
Scripture clearly teaches that God created man to lead and for women to be their helpmates. Some may find an exception to that, but there is no reason for “possible” exceptions to become the rules. If we just look at relationships as they were when the scriptures were written and for hundreds of years following that, this should become clear to us.
What this means to me is even if a woman is the smartest, wisest and most capable person in society, they should not be leaders. A governor by anyone’s standards is a leader. It is simply a matter of godly roles that have been given mankind.
Can this movement be undone? It is impossible to undo this in any society, but it still should be understood for what it is.
MS wrote: Hi Frank, not trying to butt into your convo. with Mike but wanted to share some facts that have recently become known to me. My husbands cardiologist was on our local radio talk show this morning and was debunking all the stats and numbers that we keep hearing about Covid 19. Long story short ,he said we are being lied to and manipulated by Government and the Press. Our son works in the medical field and has told me most of the hospitals he travels to are virtually empty. We live out West, so don’t know if it’s different in the East. My 2 mites. Hope you are doing well.
But then what about Italy, Spain, etc.? Why did they shut down their economies? Did these other countries lie about their death rates, etc.?
In order for the whole thing to be a hoax or a lie, then it would have to be a global lie. Possible, yes, probable no.
My wife and I are doing fine. The Lord has blessed us so much. Thanks for asking. And even though we are both staying home most of the time, I still haven't had to report any spousal abuse from her. But she has been warned. :-)
Mike wrote: Hi Frank, I agree you certainly should do what you think best for yourself and your wife. As we all should. Your last comment brought up another thought. What if it's the government that is, figuratively speaking, yelling fire in a movie theater, and there is no fire?
Good point! I have no idea whether the government is telling the truth or not. We can only choose a side and believe that side to some extent. I tend to try and see things like this from a global perspective. IOW, why have all those countries shut down; many even more than we have? Could they all be lying or could they all have been deceived?
I tend to believe that it is worse than we have been told, but I could easily be wrong.
As you know, I have little reading comprehension these days, so if I have misunderstood something please let me know; OMI. Anyway, when it comes to worship, I have no regard for what the government agrees upon or says is okay or not okay. My theology leans towards being a separatist. IOW, my worship is between me and the Lord and the government cannot intervene. In the case of worship services and this virus, it is a matter of right or wrong; not some governmental ruling.
If a church meets and they don’t adhere to the social distancing concept, then I would not attend and I would not fellowship with anyone who did attend. I would say the pastor and the members do not care for my health or the health of my wife.
Christian freedoms do come with exceptions. For instance, I have a Christian right to freedom of speech, but I don’t have the Christian right to yell fire in a movie theater; unless there is a fire.
John UK wrote: Thank you fellow pilgrim, all is well here, apart from the much tribulation we must all go through as we march on closer and closer to Zion. The Lord is good, and his grace is sufficient, even though at times it doesn't appear to be able to match the difficulties; but it is like the deep, wide river, which has the appearance of peace and tranquillity, until you fall in and find that the water has a great power.
Yes my fellow Pilgrim, I have thought much on tribulation and why it seems that some go through much and others go through little. I have only concluded that I will never understand it and like you have often said, it remains a matter of trusting in our heavenly Father’s perfect love and justice. He knows the things that are necessary for us to serve Him and for us to grow in the faith. I try to ponder the disciples and especially Paul and Hebrews 11. Anyway, the below are pertinent.
Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
James 4:14 whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.
Neil wrote: The late John Taylor Gatto, who once worked in NYC public schools until he could take it no longer, believed they have been dumbed-down deliberately by the Progressive education establishment who wants a populace more easily manipulated. Given the Left's increasingly insane anti-intellectualism, I believe him. But the rot had set in long ago. I recall his pointing out that even in WW2, army recruits were less literate than in WW1. This is why comic books and Disney films were needed for teaching recruits technical skills.
Thanks Neil! I wasn’t sure why they are dummying down the education standards, but you could easily be correct. They don’t flunk people because those people do become puppets of the system.
I had never heard of John Gatto. I looked him up and I’ll bet his thoughts were right on.
Great Sermon! What a great message from this gifted man of God. I was blessed and convicted by his message. His thoughts about little lies and little compromises were right on. Many in the faith sacrificed their lives over things that are now commonly done. Yes, all generations can say they are living in the last days. We should never compromise with the truths that are taught in scripture. And like this pastor clearly said; the Lord knows all of our thoughts and motives and if we belong to Him, He will show us our imperfections.
Bless you my dear brother.
I don’t really know the concepts behind Common Core. But, I do have a family member that is an elementary school teacher. I can say they are the most politically correct people. IOW, they all must say and do the same things. I also know that it is almost impossible to flunk someone. So, everyone passes regardless of their abilities.
If a student is flunked, it goes against the teacher's performance.
Luke 6:46 And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?
Matthew2 15:9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching [for] doctrines the commandments of men.
John 4:24 God [is] a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship [him] in spirit and in truth.
2 Cor. 6:17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean [thing]; and I will receive you,
Matthew 7:18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither [can] a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. 19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. 20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
Joshua 24:15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that [were] on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.
Galatians 5:9 A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump.
Ephesians 5:11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.
The above verses explain perfectly why Christ’s body should avoid ecumenicalism or finding common ground with the lost.
