Great Sermon! This exposition through the book of James continues to bless me. I'm convicted and encouraged at the same time. Repentance is an every moment objective as we grow in grace.
Are you self-deceived? The most dangerous kind of deception is self-deception, as is very well explained here. Even Christians can be deceived. This sermon made me think about my own self and the things I believe. I like that many of the attributes of God were covered as examples of how we can be deceived as well as doctrinal deceptions. Always a blessing to examine oneself, I sure don't want be self-deceived when it comes to our God. I've really benefited from this series on James and we're still in chapter one! It sure is one power packed little book.
We need to take this sermon very seriously. Are we abiding in Christ through the word of God and the power of His Spirit? This is an excellent sermon. The word of God is everything for us who believe and what will condemn the unbeliever in the judgement to come. We better be very serious about receiving the Word.
Great Sermon! Many things we need to remember are brought up in this sermon. Trials can be extremely painful so how can we get through them with joy? Sometimes when we're in the midst of our trials we isolate ourselves, we look to God's word and pray and that's the best thing to do, but it's also excellent to have someone give an exegesis of the Scriptures who has great wisdom and experience. This sermon meets that need. I've been encouraged to press on, I hope you will be too. Praise God, He always meets our needs.
Suffering in Faith Excellent sermon! When we have an eternal perspective, then our sufferings and trials are clear. A very compassionate response to sufferings in this life.
Great Beginning! Great beginning to this new series in the book of James. "But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned." (1 Cor. 2:14) So much trouble has come from the preaching of spritually dead men. Thank God for His faithfullness to raise up men who fear Him, in the Spirit, and can discern His Word. Faith/works? Can you discern how these two work together? I've learned a lot from this message.
What is the proper worship of God? This sermon shows the need for proper worship, pointing out that worship is more important, for the church, than the salvation of men. Would you agree?
Great Sermon! Good insight here, from key passages of Scriptures, in Acts, that show the spread of the gospel and establishment of the church. There truly is only one true church. Stephen's desire to show Christ from the O.T. helps us to see Jesus there as well. This is a very good message.
Woe Is Me! This sermon and the other three are good. Submission should come easy to us because of how great our God is, but woe is me, it's so hard. Isn't that sad. Praise to God that He is always at work for His glory and our good. Praise to God that Jesus is our righteousness. I appreciate the compassion that comes through in this series.
What is Covenant Theology? If you'd like to know more about covenant theology this overview study will be a great help. It's helped me to understand. There are five sermons, all well worth hearing. The first lesson teaches us the seven principles that will keep us on track and keep covenant theology simple. I like the way the messages are titled, it helps a lot.
Great Sermon! I saw so many pictures of spritual truths in the lives of David and Mephibosheth because of this sermon. Mephibosheth...enemy to the king, called by the king, bowed before the king as a servant, received mercy and kindness freely from the king, was perpetually provide and protected through the means of the king, always had a place at the kings table as if the king's own son, and none of this because of anything he ever did only by his standing as Jonathan's son. Many wonderful things to see here that I would have missed if it were not for this sermon.
Great Sermon! This message is very encouraging.Who would not like to be wiser? Praise God for His blessings through His word and preachers who preach it.
Great Sermon! This is indeed a very forgotten part of the gospel. I once again take comfort in my Savior as He goes before me, fully the God-Man, tasting death just as I one day will. But, I will never ever know the wrath of God, only He and the lost will know that part of God. May we not forget this very important part of the gospel.
Pope aka 'The' Antichrist This is a great Sunday school lesson, this one, and the two following, have a lot of great information and dialogue about how it is we can see the pope as "the" antichrist. The titles the pope takes upon himself say a lot as to who he really is. It's easy for me to see him as the antichrist because of these titles, and why the writers of our confession saw him as such. The next lesson continues the lesson and conversation. The lesson after that is about Mary as mediator! Very Good!
Excellent Sermon! When will we truly rest in the love of God? This sermon blessed me so very much. I love being loved. Everyone is looking for love in the wrong place if it isn't in Jesus.
