As Reformed Baptists we understand the concept of Covenant Theology to mean:
1. There is ultimately one overarching covenant, the Covenant of Grace. 2. This covenant is revealed for the first time in Genesis 3:15. 3. This covenant is progressively revealed as history unfolds. 4. The way of salvation, by grace through faith is the only way men can come to God since the fall of Adam. 5. The Covenant of Grace is fully and finally revealed by the coming of Jesus Christ and the establishment of His church made up of every nation, kindred, tongue and tribe. 6. There is no need for continuing revelation – for there is nothing left to be revealed, except the new heavens and the new earth, in which dwelleth righteousness. 7. The gospel is to be presented to all men, and when it is, they are addressed as sinners in need of God's grace.
I. The Promise of a Seed -- Genesis 3:15; 4:1; 4:25
II. The Promise to Noah – Genesis 6:17-18; 8:20-22; 9:17. There is a specific narrowing of the line of Christ in Noah – as one of his sons is chosen to be the one through whom Messiah would come. Gen. 9:26
III. The Promise to Abraham – Genesis 12:1-3 God promised to make Abraham a great nation. We need to see this in its physical and spiritual light. A Nation Consists of: 1. Offspring 2. Land 3. A Constitution 4. Leaders

What is Covenant Theology? If you'd like to know more about covenant theology this overview study will be a great help. It's helped me to understand. There are five sermons, all well worth hearing. The first lesson teaches us the seven principles that will keep us on track and keep covenant theology simple. I like the way the messages are titled, it helps a lot.

Great Sermon! Wow, there is so much more to the covenants then I ever realized. What a blessing this sermon is, I can't wait to hear the rest of them. How beautiful is our God so very worthy of our praise. He has hidden tresures in His word, in His covenants, finding them brings great joy.
