“ God highly exalted. ” The centrality of God's throne in universe. God is sovereign Lord over all the world, over all the affairs of our lives, over the Church and His circumstances. This message warmed my heart. I learned that in my prayers I must give central thing to worship God.
“ Sad story. ” The people departs from the Lord, wanting to be like the pagan nations. They do not want God to rule over them. God, in His wrath, grants them the desire of their heart. I am afraid of this: that God might leave me to the evil of my heart when I seek after sin...
“ Great repentance. ” I was very blessed by God through this series on 1 Samuel in these last days. This was also a very serious message, a call to repentance according to God's way. A wonderful case of repentance and of revival in the land.
“ Great lesson. ” Great lesson: the world's treatment of God threatens the world's existence. Unsaved people know some truth about God, but they trample under their feet this knowledge. The wrath of God is at work.
“ Wonderful! ” What a pleasure I had in listening to this sermon! God is highly exalted in it. With humor and great attention given to details, the preacher presents God's victory over Dagon. Great is our Lord! It is true: God has no need of us. He uses us and He takes pleasure in doing so, in His grace, for our benefit. But God is almighty. Pastor Goligher, Satan does not like when God is exalted like this and he derided like this. He will attack you - may God give you great power to stand!
“ Trying to control God. ” The foolishness of trying to control God. Listening to this message I was reminded that in our churches there are many tactics and techniques by which people try to control God and force Him to work. A very sobering message. We cannot play with God!
“ God reigns. ” God's work personally, generally and ultimately. Hannah had a sovereign God, who was involved in the world, changing things according to His plans and for His glory.
“ Great love of Christ. ” The love of Christ; the mind of Christ; the purpose of Christ. We are Christ's friends because He dies for us and He shared His secrets with us.
“ Great power of grace. ” How great the power of God's grace, to raise up a young men as Samuel in an environment like that of Eli's son! God is very serious about sin.
“ God has His people. ” Very encouraging message: God has His people even in times like that, in which the fear of God is so rare. The preacher has great insights in the text and is very careful to the details. It was a blessing for me.
“ Renewal. ” It is true: true salvation means the transformation of the life. I liked very much the explanation of the word metamorpheo: God changes us in new creatures so that we are unrecognizable. The old things have gone.
“ Great grace. ” Great grace of God speaking again to His people. He calls Samuel and Samuel will preach God's Word, a word which is efficacious in power. Without the Word of God the people perishes in sin.
“ Great example. ” An evangelistic church; a teaching church; a loving church; a sending church. The church in the great city of Antioch is a model church for every city church.
“ Great vision. ” We have a work to do for God in our generation. Inspiring message about the vision for this church. Excellent also the references to the history of this church.
