Hebrews shows the Futility of the Old Covenant The writer of Hebrews wrote to Jews in hardship for following Jesus while they still had a temple. Their former Jewish lifestyle made it feel like life would be easier if they walked away from Jesus. Reading the letter like we're first century hebrews with our temple enticing us with fewer hardships, and its author is showing us the grass is not greener on the other side. Everyone realizes the temple was bound for destruction. I don't think this passage, in particular, is about works for our salvation nor OSAS
I miss these summer sermons. I was fortunate enough to go to Anchorage summer camp when I was still in school. It makes my heart so happy to think of the children who get to attend to this day. Any preachings of Jesus Christ and his sacrifice will always command my attention.
I live in San Antonio now and I havenāt been able to find a good church to attend yet so Iām very grateful for this tool to listen to the word. Thank you very much Pastor Brian (:
Paul speaking of God Father in the NT and God the Son Using Isiah Isaiah 45:23 I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear.
āRomans 14:11
For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, And every tongue shall confess to God.
āPhilippians 2:10
that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
Separation of the Trinity is an implausible interp Ps22:24-31 For he hath not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; Neither hath he hid his face from him; But when he cried unto him, he heard. My praise shall be of thee in the great congregation: I will pay my vows before them that fear him. The meek shall eat and be satisfied: They shall praise the LORD that seeks him: Your heart shall live forever. All the ends of the world shall remember and turn unto the LORD: And all the kindreds of the nations shall worship before thee. For the kingdom is the LORD's: And he is the governor among the nations. All they that be fat upon earth shall eat and worship: All they that go down to the dust shall bow before him: And none can keep alive his soul. A seed shall serve him; It shall be accounted to the LORD for a generation. They shall come and shall declare his righteousness Unto a people that shall be born, that he hath done this. The public watched the wounding of his hands and feet, his thirst, his clothes divided and awarded to others, and of the mocking, and his death. When Jesus uttered those words he might as well have said on that day this psalm was fulfilled before their eyes! It's a psalm they've recited for a millennium. How have we taken a psalm of victory and turned it into a disturbance in the Godhead?
Awesome Lesson! Thank you, Sir. Solid hermeneutics and sound logic. This is the best explanation/teaching on the second coming of Jesus I have ever heard, no exaggeration. To God be the glory!
Great Sermon! Well done! I'm thankful for New Covenant Theology! Or maybe it's Progressive Covenantalism. I must get Steven Wellum's Systematic Theology Part 1! Thank you.
Timestamp 56:00 It seems like Paul told the Romans (and us) that keeping the covenant wasn't what made the difference in āāRomansā¬ ā9:32ā¬ [āCSBā¬ā¬] "Why is that? Because they did not pursue it by faith, but as if it were by works. They stumbled over the stumbling stone." and he warned the Romans in Ch 11 they too could be cut off and someone mentioned it does seem to happen all round the world. In brief, how does the rest 11 affect what you said thereafter? e.g., Rom. ā11
[2] God has not rejected his people whom he foreknew. Or donāt you know what the Scripture says in the passage about Elijahāāāhow he pleads with God against Israel?
[11] I ask, then, have they stumbled so as to fall? Absolutely not! On the contrary, by their transgression, salvation has come to the Gentiles to make Israel jealous.
[24] For if you were cut off from your native wild olive tree and against nature were grafted into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will theseāāāthe natural branchesāāābe grafted into their own olive tree?
[28] Regarding the gospel, they are enemies for your advantage, but regarding election, they are loved because of the patriarchs, [29] since Godās gracious gifts and calling are irrevocable.
Great Sermon! It seems like a lot of fine things were said about being a good influence. It appears like all of the proposed examples were for leaders. For those with little to no influence since most of us aren't leaders here is how we can make a difference in our cities.
1. Go to church every time the doors are open.
2. Help in, both, a church ministry and a parachurch ministry.
3. Give more than a tithe.
4. Fast often.
5. Vote every time the polls are open.
Evangelism and Bible study are mandatory so keep up with those, too. Imagine how much God can use these things! How do you feel about these?
Megachurches: Both Beneficial and Detrimental This podcast shows how megachurches are both beneficial and detrimental to The Cause of Christ. On one hand, megachurches have a large network of people, thereby creating a sense of community. On the other hand, megachurches are managed by people with liberal doctrinal and philosophical persuasions, especially given that many megachurches are jumping on the LGBT bandwagon. There is one example of a megachurch which has been faithful to The Fundamentals of The Scriptures, and it is known as The Metropolitan Tabernacle, which was once pastored by Charles Haddon Spurgeon, The World Famous Prince of Preachers.
Great factual sermon Thank you for preaching this sermon in a church. 99% of preachers wouldn't be caught preaching this sermon. when I asked the preacher where I was going to church why he didn't Preach on certain Bible verses, he said it wasn't necessary. The verses were on Predestination and Election. I was so disappointed and I left that SBC.
We need more Rand Pauls Good, Iām glad CPAC loved him. He is easily the best Senator we have on Capitol Hill. Hereās hoping the rest of the country catches up with CPAC.
Great Sermon! This has been an informative and interesting podcast. I have enjoyed the many different viewpoints. Iām 76 and attend church Sunday mornings and Wednesday night. We have no church on Sunday night. All churches are experiencing this same problem to some extent. Looking foreword to next podcast. Thank you for bringing this topic up for discussion.
Great Sermon! Thank you CH! I'm actually on the same road you are. 8 years in the Army, 3 as a CH Assistant. Looking at going to Reformed Baptist Seminary and becoming a CH Candidate as well.
Can sum up the Army Chaplaincy in Mathew 10:16. Thank you for your service brother. Thank you for your insight.
Matthew 10:16 NASBS
"Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves; so be shrewd as serpents and innocent as doves.
Great Sermon! Iām a Ministry Leadership student at Lancaster Bible College and found this sermon as I study. It has truly resonated with me and your preaching/teaching contains such truth of Scripture. Not only that your delivery is admirable and I hope to someday deliver Godās Word to others as well as you do.

Great Sermon! Wonderful message!!! Joh 20:17 WEBĀ Jesus said to her, āDonāt hold me, for I havenāt yet ascended to my Father; but go to my brothers, and tell them, āI am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.āā
It seems to me that this is where the Son ascends to His Father to receive "all authority." He returns later in the day and gives His disciples to permission to touch His body and confirm that He is real (i.e., flesh and bone).
