Great Sermon! I learn a lot about what’s going on in Churches and ministries by listening to this show each weak. So thank you. As far as a database goes, if you put someone’s name into a database, based on an accusation, you will be sued out of existence. Just my opinion
A Response To The Superhero Craze With the passing of Stan Lee (Stanley Martin Lieber) (28 December, 1922 - 12 November, 2018), a sermon like this is needed in response to the superhero craze around the world.
Great Sermon! Your ministry is a great blessing to me. God allowed me to find your sermons on Sermonaudio.com and I am growing in knowledge and in truth. I pray for the Lord’s continued blessing on all the saints at Berean Baptist. Thank you
DC Comics: Superhero Arm of Warner Bros DC Comics has been owned by Warner Bros since 1967. The Warner Bros Company, though recognized for its creative arts, is also known for marketing occultism, meaning that there is not much of a difference between Warner Bros and Disney, even though they are different companies. The same can be said of DC and Marvel. Even though the superheroes and supervillains of comicdom are imaginary, there were spiritual abominations called Nephilim, and they are mentioned in Genesis 6:4. This sermon is very helpful because it takes the super out of superheroes and supervillains.
Good Discussion Many of these points have been addressed in more detail in James D Martin's sermon series problems with Annihilationism on SermonAudio
Megachurch: Entertaining People For Filthy Lucre This sermon shows why the usual megachurch is about entertaining people while making filthy lucre at the same time. It's just as Charles Haddon Spurgeon predicted, "A time will come when instead of shepherds feeding the sheep, the church will have clowns entertaining the goats."
Sorry You are taking Dr. Stanley's words out of context. Jesus said He would never leave you or forsake you. I can tell you without question Dr. Stanley is being used by God Himself in very meaningful ways and Dr. Stanley speaks truth. If a person is saved God will not let that person lose his salvation. The Bible speaks clearly of correction and The Bible clearly speaks of not having levels of sin. Sin one sin all and we are all sinners. Sorry but you are wrong on this one.
She should repent of her verbal abuse The wife is the one who has been verbally abusing her husband, disrespecting him and God for years, and this man was hurt emotionally/psychologically/spiritually, and was likely too passive to her overbearing and abusive yelling, put downs, insults. These three boys do not fully see what that woman (man abuser) saw in her moment of “hamburger revelation”, and sinful behaviour. She started to see how poorly she was treating her husband, and couldn’t even apologize to him or God. She admitted she has abused him this way for years. So stop defending her sinful actions/behaviours or at least minimizing them, and show some empathy for the husband who was victimized in this. She couldnt even apologize to him properly, she needs to be corrected rightly of how to treat other human beings. We dont even know if she has fully repented and curtailed fully her abusive controlling outbursts. That is not love.... How would Jesus have responded or God for that matter seeing her on going abuse? Seemed like they trivialized this as not a big deal. If a husband did this to his wife, one phone call and he would be talking to the Police.
Dear Judy, about Matthew Henry's commentary... This is not just for Judy's benefit, but for any dear sister in Jesus Christ.
Judy wrote:
"Matthew Henry says women were created equal to men until the Fall."
I realize you didn't get your ideas from the world, as others who commented here have mistakenly thought, but from men in the church.
What Matthew Henry wrote is unbiblical. Women were always under the rule of men, as per God's good design. Mr. Henry is teaching what is called Gnosticism, which holds to a feminist view of Adam and Eve. I suspect he gets his ideas from those who were influenced by Augustine. Augustine brought many Gnostic ideas into the church.
There are many preachers who are unknowingly teaching the false feminist doctrines of Gnosticism, and it's clearly causing confusion among the women, and men don't understand this. It's not you, it's them. They don't see it. They need to repent and stop teaching Gnosticism, which will greatly benefit you and other women so that this kind of confusion will cease from happening in the church.
If men teach feminist doctrine, unaware, then they will end up blaming the women simply for following the false doctrines they teach to their logical conclusions.
Judy and other dear sisters in Christ need to stop listening to any preacher who teaches Gnos
Great Sermon! Is it possible that Adam-and-Eve first sinned on the 6th day of creation? Or 1st day they were created. if Adam-and-Eve sinned on the 6th day of creation this would be a good parallel to Jesus dying on the cross on the 6th day of passion week. Sin would have entered the world on the 6th day of creation, and would have been paid for by the 1st animal sacrifice. All sins were paid for on the 6 day of Passion week with the final sacrifice of Jesus dying on the cross for all our sins.
I would like to hear you guys discuss this on a podcast one day. I have emailed got questions and answers in genesis on this.
They say it is not possible since God calls creation very good at end of chpt 1. However, i say this was part of his sovereign plan and thus he called it good. I can email versus that show adam and eve sinned the day they were created, email me if you would like me to send them. GOD BLESS
Great Sermon! Pastor Sean you are a true representation of a true believer I've ne ER met you I probably never meet you but I truly enjoy and am taught by your out of the box teaching on Revelation study on pastor and preach the truth!
Great Sermon! Interesting interpretation! I can see the appeal of interpreting it in this way and appreciate your careful study. However, you said that Calvin "didn't know what to do with it"... but Calvin expresses no confusion regarding the interpretation in his commentary (so I felt like that comment was slightly disingenuous: he didn't reach your conclusions, but he was not confused!), and his interpretation carries with it none of the problems that yours does (for instance, the idea that Jesus would value fallen humanity more than His own resources strikes at mercy, and makes salvation a "good business decision" for God; also, that Jesus would find "the kingdom"-since that's what the treasure IS- before He purchases it!; finally- Owen's question: if Christ atoned for each one, on what basis does anyone go to hell?/ Is unbelief a sin?). It's better to see this parable as it has been traditionally interpreted: a call to the Christian to surrender all for the Kingdom, and to ask whether he does so joyfully. It's commendable to seek to incorporate context into the text in question, but in this case I would humbly suggest that your presuppositions (i.e. "the Kingdom parables are always soteriological") drove your exegesis, and caused you to miss the main point of this particular parable.
We need higher preaching standards I have these standards when evaluating preaching:
1. If a mormon, catholic, or any other religious unbeliever comes, will they amen that message? Because they should not, because of the many differences they have with God. This sadly happens a lot.
2. The Roman catholics also have preaching, and depending on the priest, they do a good job of verse by verse, simply because they have a "preach through the bible in 1 year" type of plan that they must preach expository messages. Now the question, is how should our sermons be different from them? In my opinion, there is a clear difference from their sermons, and the many sermons found on this site, I think it's the detail and context, and also the pastor answers some questions that the congregation might have. Most Catholics have no apologetic experience.
Great Sermon! This book had reinforced my thoughts about the subject of dating and courting. My decision about courting was already made when the book came out. However, the book also makes some assumptions about dating that aren't accurate either. There are some valid healthy avenues where the date perspective can shead a little light on the future with the individual you intend on marrying. The book was intended for both parties to already be vetted as true believers in Christ. Courtship works great for that type of situation. There has to be a guideline to follow while figuring it out. A plan if you will. The book has a list of rules. The only problem with this type of system is the possibility of guilt and shame. As Christian's it's important to uphold the basic moral code and respect for boundaries put in place. For the unbelievers they are free from this code and therefore more likely to bring pain with the adventure. I used to be strickt to the code of courting. However, realized that a blend is probably best, 95% court 5% date. There are things that a person can and will hide from you without there ever being one on one. It should be before engagement but long into the already developed courtship. Trust, faithfulness, love, and respect are the keys to a successful relationship.

Great Sermon for Christians! America. A cesspool of thieves, adulterers, money-mongers, deceivers, liars, etc. have embedded themselves among the wheat.
The heart of the king is in the hand of the Lord. Seek God's will. Pray for our leaders.
Great Sermon! As always... an honest and transparent discussion... it was a great book and still is... the premise has much merit... and if someone set the bar too high it was their doing... not Josh Harris. Victimhood is a typical response today which has been around since the beginning..... “blame someone else for the bad decisions I have made.”
