Great Sermon! This sermon is precious rain on parched dry ground, if your heart is crushed by sins committed either before or since your conversion. How God can forgive and forget is brought home here in force, even when we can't forgive ourselves. What a blessing.
Great Sermon! Mark 9:24 Your sermons and website are a tremendous help and I thank God that this, before the public is a faithfilled reminder of the things important in life.
Great Sermon! This sermon should try the heart of any of us - especially if we, in our knowledge, have become puffed up, legalisic, critical, or self-content in our religious performance. This kind of preaching keeps us humble and gracious.
Awesome Sermon! Spurgeon has a way of describing Hell as no other man can. Even as a saved man i can literally become afraid as I hear him describe it as the "wrath to come" and how it will always be "to come..." with no ending. This message is one of my favorites and oh so powerful.
Switch to Romans 5:5 Carol, I've downloaded many of Spurgeon's sermons and have compared some with the text - it's all there. However, perhaps some have been "shortened" to fit MP3 downloads although I don't know this for a fact.
My experience is not in any way a coplete coverage survey. There are around sermons 3,500 in print [or electronic format].
Try http://www.biblebb.com/spurgeon.htm
and see if there is something there which "does not disappoint."
Great Sermon! I have listened to several of the sermons of C.H. Spurgeon and am quite disappointed that they are only partial sermons. Is there no way you can have the full sermon available for listening? Thank you so much.
Sincerely,
Carol Hargrove
Tremendous Exhortation! A powerful word from a man whose ministry was owned of God because he practiced what he here preaches. This message, given so long ago, seems to me as much needed today as ever. Here you will find refreshment to your souls, rejoicing in the Scriptures of Truth, and renewed desire to "Search the Scriptures." I heartily recommend this sermon. One of my favorite lines was this charge to children of believers: "Cast not away lightly your spiritual heritage, for it may be pure gold; but fail not to test it against the touchstone of truth, for it may be but fool's gold." To God be the glory!
Great Sermon! This sermon pricked my heart and caused my to remble at its truths which are rooted in Scripture. It is relevent as well to the seeker sensitive mindset that is so popular today. Here is a quote from this very sermon, "That very church which the world likes best is sure to be that which God abhors."
Great Sermon! It's not often that you can hear a sermon that both emphasizes God's sovereignty in salvation and man's responsibility to believe, but in this sermond Charles Spurgeon has done just that! An excellent, must-hear message!
Awesome, Great Sermon! I found this website when I was having trouble understanding my bible, and since this happen, I have been blessed, The Violent Take It By Force. Put me in that list, in Jesus Name.
Great Sermon! This preaching of Spurgeon "Compel Them to Come In" is one of the best sermons I have ever heard. He has really changed my view about evangelism. I was amazed to learned that we are also obliged by our Lord to compel people to come to Christ. All I thought at first was that we were only commanded to share His Word and that's it. Thank God my view was changed.
I hope to learn more about God and of God through Spurgeon's preaching of His Word.
Great Sermon! Wonderful to hear a true message of the Lord over this time of rampant materialism and glitzch called christmas. Oh that the church would awaken to the false romanist mass set on this pagan festival that the west celebrates with increasing covetousness. Spurgeon's sermon is most apt in the true calling for a Christian.
One person pointed to the fact that Spurgeon bought presents for orphans at Christmas. Why should he not - when all others were indulging their own sensuous desires and not looking to uplift those who need help, comfort and the love of Christ the most.
Great Sermon! This is a good sermon on spiritual warfare that all Christians are engaged in our fight with sin. I like the latter part of the sermon that briefly describes the various postures that we should exhibit in winning this battle. Listen to this very uplifting message preached by Spurgeon on 1859 but very relevant still.
Great Sermon! A wonderful and much needed sermon for our time. Evangelical Christianity has for too long assumed that every aisle walker and every decision card signer is a true convert. May the Lord bless us to understand the doctrine of false conversions and to proclaim this truth in our churches. We must seek out this truth among the sermons of years gone by since it is not taught in Bible colleges or seminaries today. A great sermon on a much neglected truth.
Wonderful Message on Assurance This message is a balm to buffeted souls - you can be saved and you can know it! Whether or not he had a beard in 1861 when he preached this (how ridiculous to waste an entire sermon on that subject!) Spurgeon certainly knew how to preach Christ, and like David before him "beard the lion". Enjoy!
Great Sermon! This is a wonderful message that teaches us our most blessed desire of seeing Christ as He is, not as he was. We shall see Him as He is. We shall see Him exalted and worshipped not mocked and ridiculed. We shall see Him as the conqueror not the victim. We shall see Him honored. Crown Him Lord of all. This is our glorious inheritence and position in Christ. Our view of Christ at present will determine our future destiny in the Christian life. We must stand in this truth always. Thank you.
