The Quiet Christian, I don't think most christians enter the foster system with full understanding of what it is they are enabling. I do believe their hearts are in the right but the road to hell is paved with good intentions.
Masks have their place. The point is, is the way they're being used bu the public now doing any good? I would venture to say no. The other thing to consider is is covid really worthy of such mandates? Does the government have the biblical authority to mandate them?
Neil, Interesting. I'll have to research that. I'll admit history wasn't my fave. topic in school bit I'm falling in love with it now. I think it's purposely made to be boring...an uneducated population is easy to control.
Jim, masks didn't work in 1918 and they're nott going to work today. Here's why: people don't change; nothing new inder the sun. Should we shoot folks that refuse to comply like what happened to the man in Chicagon in 1918? https://update.lib.berkeley.edu/2020/05/23/did-masks-work-the-1918-flu-pandemic-and-the-meaning-of-layered-interventions/#:~:text=But%20back%20in%201918%2C%20public,the%20public%20were%20minimally%20effective.&text=Influenza%2C%20A%20Study%20of%20Measures,California%20State%20Board%20of%20Health.
Ladybug, of course there are errors. They're imperfect people. No one claims otherwise. You're full of errors too. Shan't read your comments as well? Or can I chew on the meat and spit out the bones?
MS, not really. It's following your philosophy to the end. Bible only means just that. No sermons, no comments of fellow believers, etc after all we're not the bible, just imperfect people (saved by a perfect God. Praise the Lord for that because some can get burdensome with their arm chair theology).
A man who doesn't read is no better than the man who can't read. If you'd prefer not to read words of men than please don't listen to sermons either. They're words of men in audio form. In fact, you probably shouldn't read our comments and we, held to the same standards, shouldn't read yours.
I beleive his point is that circumstances can be the method God uses to humble man and draw him to the cross. We shouldn't dismiss it outright. Are circumstances salvation, no. Nor is that what is being argued. The point is, God can use whatever He wants to draw whoever He wants to the cross.
And the Lord commands us to love our neighbor as ourself. It's hateful to demand a person (who may not desire so) to remain isolated for "their own good." The road to hell is paved with good intentions. Mike,
Testing positive means nothing. For one thing, they admit that positive results does not mean you have Covid19 but instead the test could be picking up antibodies from another coronovirus. Then there's the fact that false positives are real.
Wayfarer, it is very much poasible. We appear to be a in a Tower of Babel stage. What can man not accomplish with his lab coats and chemicals? What is the need of God when we can do it ourselves? At some point, He has to humble us. We can't go on like this forever.
So one expert says schools are violent and another says parents are violent and we need schools...guess which one is louder.
Glad to see homeschooling on the rise. Education needs to be taken out of the hands of the government. The worst homeschool is better than the best public school. P.S. public school online classes is not homeschooling, it's public schooling at home.
