I have no experience with it either, Frank. It was never something I got into or desire to. Never been drunk either.
Treat it as alcohol. Refrain from it on the job which is being mature and loving of your fellow man. On your own time, well that's none of my business. The war on drugs is one you can't win and leads to a slippery slope on how much control the government should have over what you can and can not consume (raw milk is a great example). Prohibition did not work. Banning weed is not working. But it could lead to xyz....well, yes, it has potential to. It's not without risks but until xyz (be it another drug or a crime) has taken place it's just pure speculation.
It prevents one from being sober minded and should be shunned for what it is. However, smoking it is a victimless crime and jail time should not be faced for being in possession of it. When a crime is commited(such as mentioned in the article) then charge the perp for that.
We planted 5 different apple types and 3 different grapes that grow well in our region. Muscadine grow wild here as well. And sassafras so homebrewed rootbeer is in our future. We have plans to add more fruit trees and berry bushes in the future. I had 2 blueberry bushes and 3 gooseberry bushes but they accidentally got mowed down. Have you ever heard of an ice cream banana? A very interesting plant.
Thank you for the corn tips. I can already see where some mistakes were made. I want sheep!!! Maybe one day. Are yours mostly a meat source?
Our garden did pretty good this year. I planted some seeds that were saved from Grandpa's garden over a decade ago and got a good crop of those. Our corn, first year growing, was a pitiful harvest but hopefully next year is better. I have plans to incoporate a huge cottage/cut flower/herb/dye garden in the front yard. We have an orchard too. In its baby stages. We just plantes in April. We lost one tree to a gopher but the rest are fine. This lifestyle really humbles you and makes you all the more appreciative of the good Lord.
Yes, we have acreage. It's not as far along in the self sufficient journey as yours since we're just getting started. We have cows ans chickens. I find a crowing rooster at 4am to be both irritating and peaceful. Haha
We have created a monster. What we have now cannot survive without big ag. Big at needs regulating because they've shown to be untrustworthy and greedy. Want to help small farmers and squash big ag? Grow as much of your own as you can and then shop af your local market to build your supply. Without people accepting responsibility for their own food big ag will continue on and small farmers will continue to file bankruptcy. Of course, zoning laws, etc make this impossible in some places. Those laws need to be overturned asap.
Not picking a fight, Frank, because I happen to agree with Scripture (and you) on women not teaching men. I'm trying to understand your position farther in regards to sermonaudio. If you argue every gathering together of the saints is church does that mean here is church and us women should not be debating here?
