Much needed encouragement I so appreciated this sermon, it fed and encouraged me. As a wife and mother of five children I get weary of well doing many times. The society around us mocks and scorns us and it is hard to keep going when we rarely receive any encouragement or support so this really just strengthened me and urged me onward and upwards.
Words Cannot Express! This sermon was the most riveting I’ve ever heard concerning this particular passage in scripture.
Delivered with such majestic pathos, my heart was reminded of God’s election of those His Son died for, my worthless self included, thank you Father, thank you Lord for your selfless obedience.
Great Sermon! Stirring challenge to the apathetic and indifferent among us in our churches today who have settled for mere externalism in service with dry eyes and and an unbroken heart over the lost and perishing. May each of us take a coal from the altar and place it upon our hearts in vital Christianity again.
Great Sermon! Thank you Pastor Hughes. Thank You Lord Jesus for gifting this man to deliver such wonderful sermons. I pray you raise others to preach with the passion this man does. This sermon strikes at the heart of the past 5 years of the lives of myself and many others. Discouragement is a powerful tool of our adversary, but The God who bought us can overcome.
Unbelievably Bold I was looking up sermons on the topic of modesty and came across this one. Al Martin is highly esteemed in the Reformed Baptist Church we used to attend. We left the church primarily over concerns of immodesty and worldliness. Apparently the church has let its standards fall and continue to drop over the years.
I pray that this church would consider again the words of this godly minister and repent of their sin of allowing this to go on in their church.
I also took this as a challenge to myself as a father of my household. We will be re-examining our attire so that we can assure that we are unquestionably modest. Thank God for messages like this and would to God the church would begin to preach like this again.
I love how to called out specific items of dress and how he called out his congregation, making them uncomfortable. This is what we need to conform to the image of Christ, rather than the image of the world.
Wrong sermon. This is supposed to be number four in the series on warfare in the life of the Christian. From another comment here, It was at one time the correct message.
What happened next? I wonder what the effect was on the congregation who heard this. It certainly has made me think and search my heart and desires before the Lord. The word HOLINESS UNTO THE LORD has been following me for some time.
Great Sermon! I heartily commend this whole series. I found them very sobering, but very faithful to God's truth and the souls of men. I transcribed the whole series and am awaiting Pastor Martin's approval to have them printed. I handed him a printed copy at a Banner of Truth conference some years ago. Perhaps he's forgotten them . . .
Great Sermon! Thank you Pastor Hughes for all your many years of devotion to our Savior teaching his flock with such precision and care and love . You have been a blessing to me for many years now.
Very Warm Message For anyone weary of sin and desiring to know the closeness of a forgiving God, this is a warm and wonderful message about the depths of grace.
