Great Sermon! THE THEN CONDITION of the most popular group of religious leaders: Luke 16:14 And the Pharisees also, who were covetous, heard all these things: and they derided him. THE PRESENT CONDITION of the most popular religious leaders: 2 Peter 2:3 And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.
Is that so? When the children of God preach the Gospel to the unsaved, the WORD OF GOD, the two edged sword of the Spirit, judges them as either righteous or wicked. This is the meaning of remitting and retaining sins. The popular preachers of the so called christian churches view on this very important doctrinal verse is no different from the cursed idolatrous Roman catholic churches view.
Revelation Of Christ How can anyone worship Christ? Only when He reveals Himself to that person. How does He reveal Himself? He reveals Himself by making them born of Father through God the Holy Spirit giving him faith to believe the existence of the Living Christ.
First Born Christ is called the Firstborn from the dead, because He raised himself from the dead, He overcame death by His own power. He was the first one to overcome death by His own power. And thus, as the “Firstborn” of His family He gave to all who were and are in Christ also the name “firstborn.”
Born Again When an elect of God is made to be born from above,faith is given. Through this faith God the Holy Spirit reveals to him that Christ had died for his sins. 1John 5:13
sanctification If people are genuinely saved they are guaranteed to be sanctified, for God the Holy Spirit will lead them in all truths. If there is no sanctification going on in their lives then they don't have Spirit of Christ in them implying they are not saved.
Powerful Sermon! Very interesting , powerful and helpful Teaching. It's one of the best sermon on How to kill our sins in our daily walk with Christ.
Thank you & blessings
Powerful Sermon! John gives us a deep and meaniningful explanation of why and what Jesus' Resurrection is the most important event in the life of a Christian. It gives me great peace of mind to know I'll be in heaven with Jesus.
why pray Even before we pray God knows our mind. Our prayer does not make any difference in His counsel. When we pray it is for our benefit meaning for our edification. When we pray we are actually asking God to change us so that we could rest on the decision He makes and rely on His wisdom and accept His will in that matter.
Now I Understand This message helped me understand that one of the reasons the Lord was quiet during his trial was in order to fulfill scripture. Pastor MacArthur does a very good job explaining the connection between Isaiah 53:7-9 and the Lord's trial in front of Pilate, Herod, and the Pharisees. When I was younger I always wondered why Jesus didn't defend himself when He was such an eloquent speaker. The Lord quietly and humbly followed the will of God.
See, Hear, Understand, Turn...be healed For many deceivers have gone out into the world, those who do not confess the coming of Jesus Christ in the flesh. Such a one is the deceiver and the antichrist 2John7.
Simple Truth If we have had truly received the forgiveness of Christ that is having the knowledge of God's immeasurable mercy and grace towards us, then the regenerated souls of us will be certainly given grace to forgive those who trespass against us. But if we do not forgive others that is a sign of an unregenerated soul.
Simple Truth Now the visible kingdom of God in earth, is being seized by the free will gospel people and those who bring true Gospel are silenced; persecuted; as the prophets of the old testament days were persecuted.
wierd interpretation 1Peter 3:19,20 By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison;
20 Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.The Spirit of Christ preaching to the people in Noah's time is referred, in these verses. Reference 1Peter 1:10,11
Simple Truth This is not at all a difficult verse. Paul is talking in this 1Corinthians:15 about the resurrection of the body. verse 29 says "else what shall they do which are baptized for the dead, if the dead rise not at all? why are they then baptized for the dead?" paraphrasing the dead saints who are washed by the blood do not raise up from the dead body physically what is the use of that kind of cleansing. (baptism). This will make sense of this verse in the context of other verses.
Great Free Resources On Headcoverings! In accord with what Dr. MacArthur notes here, that headcoverings in Paul's day were a customary outward symbol (and not prescribed element of worship), which is also the position set forth in the Westminster standards, also see the detailed free study (in various free digital, print and audio formats), entitled, "THE CUSTOMARY PRACTICE OF HEADCOVERINGS: AN EXEGETICAL/HISTORICAL STUDY OF 1 CORINTHIANS 11:2-16 PRESENTED IN A SERIES OF LETTERS" by Pastor Greg L. Price at http://ow.ly/iifyF or http://www.puritandownloads.com/greg-l-price-on-headcoverings/. Review: "I must begin by thanking you for such a thorough study. The headcovering text of 1 Cor. 11 contains many difficult points and while many of our church fathers have briefly touched on the issue of customary headcovering, I am not aware of any work that has treated the subject with such clarity and breadth as yours. It is my opinion that your future book will become the definitive study on the subject. I am not aware of any error or point of disagreement by which I could take issue. I further believe the work to be grounded in scripture, faithful to the text (especially your work in Greek), and faithful to the views of the most respected church fathers." - http://ow.ly/iifyF
