Great power in the Gospel. The power of God in converting sinners, in giving perseverance and comfort to believers. The power of the Word to separate people for God.
Great tragedy. The tragedy of not listening to the Word of God and of bring rejected by God. A serious warning about spending eternity without God.
Great Sermon! Awesome message Brother. God is so faithful in keeping His promise in Genesis 3:15 that the woman's Seed will be victorious over the serpent!Your comment on the worship of Israel "was always polluted" thank God that Christ made it possible to worship in Spirit and Truth.John 4:23-24
Great wisdom of God. Blessed work of the Holy Spirit, orchestrating this turning point in the history of the Church, leading with wisdom and patience Peter.
Christ still working. Jesus Christ is Lord and He is still working here through Peter. The Book of Acts continues to record the mighty acts of our Lord.
Who is great? This message puts things in true perspective: not Gedeon was great, but God was great. Not his faith was great, but faith was put in a great God. We are small, and our God is great. The Holy Spirit can do great things through us.
Great comfort. This was really God's message for me, speaking exactly to my present need. It was not a sermon, it was like God sitting near me and talking about my situation and my need!
Great lessons. David as the annointed of God prefigures the Messiah to come. Saul fights against the Lord's annointed and has the spirit of Antichrist. God's enemy hates God's people. Also a message about the sovereignty of God and human respondability.
Thought provoking Where does the regulative principle come into this. As reformed people must tie down what is allowed and forbid re worship. Kind regards
Great Sermon! Thank and praise God for this message. I have learnt much from this clear and godly exposition of this chapter and especially of the relationships between Jonathan and David. Best of all, Rev. Goligher applies this to our love and loyalty to King Jesus.
