Interesting... This sermon from 1982 is an interesting look at the Charismatic movement, which has only gotten more extreme since this time. The names have changed, but the leopards in today's movement haven't changed their spots. The sermon is worthwhile because it discusses a generation of Charismatic leaders whose origins are fading into the past. All of today's leaders doctrinally descend from these people. The sermon concentrates on the faith healing wing (Oral Roberts, Kuhlman, etc) and not on the prosperity wing (Hagin, Copeland, etc), of this movement. The latter had not arisen to prominence at that time, I don't believe. |
