In Christ, R.C. Sproul
Great Sermon! This is an excellent explanation of such an important and far reaching doctrine. It will especially protect many of us from the tendancies towards Hyper-Calvinism. Thanks Arden.
A Must Hear Sermon! God said, “Comfort ye, comfort ye my people”! [Isa 40:1] This is exactly what Pastor Arden Hodgins does in this wonderful sermon. A sermon on the assurance of salvation. But at the same time a sermon which sets forth the need for exhortations and warnings. Using the analogy of an earthly parent and his child Brother Hodgins wonderfully sets forth the concern and care of our Heavenly Father and his protection over us.
He reminds us that – “Perseverance is not the condition but the evidence of our salvation and God will never let one of his children slip through his fingers”. He warns, “You don’t have a vacation from sanctification, if you are not making progress you are regressing.” This is a true saying and worthy of all acceptation!
A truly comforting and motivating sermon. You must hear this to know what it means to ‘keep yourselves in the love of God’.
A very important sermon! Very important sermon - i bought the New King James Version and immediately noticed the differences in translations, my wife noticed the same thing - download also Dr. Leland Ryken - What you need to know about Bible Translations
Church will never be the same for me! Forget the matrix - this sermon is about the real Zion - I have more motivation to fellowship with my fellow church members
A great start to the discipline of contentment! I loved this sermon - and listen to it every once in a while - and ive given a copy to my sister in law who i believe benefited greatly from it. Arden is a great teacher!
Excellent. Excellent study, it really gives you a sense about Luther's life and ministry, his importance. Useful the first point, the things God prepared to help the beginning and the spread of Reformation: these 3, the Renaissance, the invention of the printing press and the rise of nationalistic independence.
Great Sermon! What an encouragement. No matter what your situation, if you are a child of God you can rejoice in this, "that your names are written in heaven." May we all meditate on this and what it means more! We would have much more joy and perspective if we did!
Great Sermon! The reference of the fear of the ocean is astounding, and yes frightening. What comes to mind is God holding the these vast oceans in His hands, and under His control. I shall not fear and run away, yet fear and run to, for God is in control. Great sermon.
Great Sermon! This is a wonderful and very simple introduction to fasting. In the first 10 minutes of the message he outlines some helpful resources for further study. Arden, thank you for being faithful to God's word!
Great Sermon! I really liked this message. I have been having an on-going discussion with an old friend via email on the doctrines of the reformed faith. He is not of the reformed faith, but I think he is close. One of his questions had to do with why God allowed sin in the world to begin with. I referred him to this sermon. I am looking forward to his response.
One thing that stood out to me in this message is the fact that if we are trying to understand everything about God and why He does what He does, then we are committing the same sin as Eve...trying to be like God. I never thought of it that way before.
Why I Support Private Property The reason that Christians should support private property rights has nothing at all to do with a man-made political philosophy, such as Conservatism, but rather because private property rights are inherently God-given.
This excellent sermon on the Eighth Commandment reveals the reason why I no longer consider myself a mere Conservative when it comes to political issues. Conservatism, or any other political philosophy, is morally just only when it fully coincides with God's Law.
Here I Stand! Christians must never forget the significance of how the Lord used Martin Luther to spark the Reformation and to rediscover the Truth of Holy Scripture.
Excellent sermon, and I wholeheartedly recommend listeners to download this.
Great Sermon! This message really helped me to see the true meaning of God's Rightoeusness and how important it is to our Christianty.
Thank you Pastor!
Great Sermon! If you know of anyone who thinks the Sabbath is not for today I would highly recommend these sermons, both part 1 and 2. Pastor Hodgins makes an excellent defense for the Lord's day. I'm extremely grateful for this and I'm sure I will listen to it again in the near future as well as pass it along to others who might misunderstand what the Bible teaches us about the beauty and joy of this blessed day of rest.
