“ This is 2nd Timothy chapter 4 and not Ecclesiastes ” this Sermon is preached by Campbell Colledge and not Rick Horist. They posted the wrong sermon. I sent TRBC an email about this a few weeks ago.
I would LOVE to hear Pastor Rick Horist's sermon that was supposed to be posted here.
It is from Ecclesiastes 5:1-7
I hope and pray TRBC finds that Sermon and then posts Campbell Colledge's sermon from 2nd Timothy. It is an excellent sermon.
“ Good Sermon on Good ” This is a helpful sermon. Certain concepts were made to be easier for me to intellectualize. Also, I learned some wonderful ways to explain to unbelievers and doubters about how God's wrath is a very good things. Additionally the example about how human judges are viewed as good or wicked in contrast to how God is wrongly viewed in these categories is also helpful.
“ Great Sermon! ” Thank you for explaining Moses' comments in Deuteronomy with understanding. Most Pastors will not speak much about this. A very helpful sermon to me.
“ Great Sermon! ” This is a great sermon by a great brother in the Lord whom I have been blessed to know personally. I have listened to it a couple of times, as well as some others in this series - I greatly look forward to listening to the rest of the series.
“ Thanks for the sound wisdom! ” Thanks for the sound wisdom! Linda O.'s blog "Scripture Thoughts" tipped me off to this site. Plan to rework these thoughts with background Scriptures (other than what was used here) -- am a former Baptist and Presbyterian, now functioning in a charismatic environment; am in agreement with this viewpoint as being solidly biblical.
“ Doctrines of Grace in John 10:1-33 Wonderful ” Please listen to this and 2 related Sermons preached also by Pastor Arden Hodgins on the same verses. There is overlap, which is just fine because this topic is wondrous and beautiful, but there are some differences of great worth and you don't want to miss is. I promise (-:

“ Great Sermon! ” I am greatly enjoying this series so far. Have any further messages been preached since #230 (this past December)? And if so, when will they be available on SermonAudio?
“ Comment back to dlh from Raleigh, NC ” Thank you for your comment. Please listen to the segment of the sermon from 23:09 to 23:12 to see that your concern for Machen's reputation is indeed addressed. He was not misrepresented in this sermon. Blessings!
“ Great Sermon! ” This message was such a great blessing to our congregation - so fitting and timely. I had been planning on developing a paper for the deacons, describing certain 'Biblical Principles of the Diaconate', but to do so (in light of this message by Pastor Marquedant) would be redundant.
“ Preached words & God's speech shape our reality ” All Pastors/Preachers/Teachers, and Listeners will benefit greatly from this intense and fascinating teaching about God & words, human beings & language/speech/words, and the realities created. For example: Satan's words against God's words created a different reality for Adam. Adam's choice intended to create a new reality for himself. God's curse of spoken words created yet another reality for Adam. I can't possibly do this wonderful, powerful teaching justice here. I learned so much from the history and insights about Luther and Calvin concerning the preaching of God's word. It is astonishing to learn how good preaching in the pulpit properly CONFRONTS us because God confronts us, and reshapes the faulty worldly realities in our hearts & minds. All week long most of us are vulnerable to pollution from the world, and then on the bless-ed Lord's Day the preaching should realign us to God's reality. Language & speech & words are how God communicates. Our words also create good or bad realities. (Additionally, the way he pronounces almost everythingk endingk with a 'g' except for the word preaching, is entertainingk. Though, everythingk he thinks is interestingk). All 4 teachings of his about scripture, early history & reformation schema from the SCRBPC 2014 are exemplary. Thankgs
“ Great Sermon! ” I appreciated the note about Republication. It sounds like Dr. Barcellos read or at least agrees with Dennison's Biblical Theological Catechism of Exodus http://www.kerux.com/doc/2902A4.asp
“ This should be added to the Psalm 23 series ” Hi - this sermon does not appear under the SermonAudio SERIES list for Campbell Colledge's Psalm 23 series. I believe this should be the 7th in the list.
“ This should be added to the Psalm 23 series ” Hi - this sermon does not appear under the SermonAudio SERIES list for Campbell Colledge's Psalm 23 series. I believe this should be the 6th in the list.
“ Great Sermon! ” Great points - perhaps some room for reform in our own church. One minor observation: Orthodox Presbyterians would not consider J. G. Machen a Fundamentalist leader. In fact, he was very much against Prohibition. See Fighting the Good Fight: A Brief History of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church by D.G. Hart and John Muether. Thanks!
“ Great Sermon! ” Great comprehensive look at fasting. Very informative, answers practical questions and puts in proper perspective. Thank you for this teaching!
