“ Great Sermon! ” Praise the LORD that He used this sermon to grant me understanding of this passage, one I wrestled with many times in the past. (Thinking covering was correct but unable to reconcile all the verses in the passage, so not covering my hair due to my uncertainty). Now that I understand it will be easy to explain my headcovering to others. What cinched it: God's glory, not mine. That is such a clear overaching Biblical truth, always embraced, it makes perfect sense now...but I had never made the connection between my hair and God's glory. The practical examples of how we women treat our hair was so telling in that regard. Well done! Thank you! May the Lord Jesus be glorified in you to His everlasting praise and your joy in Him.

If christianity is the main influence in society then this will shape the laws and policies of the state, this is the outcome of the cultural mandate to be salt and kight in the world.
We must also remember, when paul commands to obey the powers of the state in its role of punishing the evil and rewarding of the good, he was refering to polytheistic, pagan, promiscuous, tyranical imperial Rome.
