Great Sermon! One of the most powerful sermons I've ever heard. I have heard other messages mention that America is under the judgement of God but with little conviction. This sermon settled that truth in my mind and heart. This sermon will bring you to your knees, either in worship of God's saving grace upon you, or, begging like a dog for God to have mercy and grant you repentance and saving grace. What was true in Paul's day, is the same for us today. The gospel is the power of God (v.16). It is man's only hope. I never want to hear God say to me or anyone "have it your way".
Great Sermon! I’ve listened to this several times and always received strength to persevere. Great doctrine regarding the synergistic work of our salvation. Ultimately God gets all the glory. Eph 6:10-‘be strong in the Lord and his mighty power’ This is awesome teaching and irrefutable doctrine re. the perseverance of the saints
Excellent Sermon! I love serious preaching and teaching. Pastor reminds us that we can never take the word of God lightly. We are not the evaluator of our sin. God's word is the standard. I was challenged to heed the word in every circumstance. God even says to test him! Amazing. Like the nation of Israel, I am not consumed today and exist because of God's covenant purpose. Great is thy faithfulness Lord unto me.
Encouraging! Very encouraging for frightening times in our lives. Surely the Lord does surround us with favor as with a shield. Thank you for this good reminder.
Great Sermon! Wouldn’t the controversy be answered by realizing that all those who respond positively to the Gospel were those who were foreordained to do so before the foundation of the world?
Great Sermon! Wouldn't the controversy over who is pre-elected for salvation be answered by, realising that those who respond positively to the gospel become the elec?
One of the greatest sermons ever preached Must listen! Didn’t won’t it to end. If you love hearing the story of your new birth and how you are safe, listen.
Brilliant sermon! Praise be to God. This sermon should be essential listening for every believer. It is a superb exposition of text that renders deep insight into a sin that we have all been guilty of.
Thank you very much, Pastor Caldwell.
Great Sermon! Thank you Dr. Carson for demonstrating your care for the people of God in that you prepare the ear for hearing the word of God.
Context truly matters.
Great Sermon! One of the best sermons I’ve heard probably because it’s so relevant and challenging. If Christ is ones master then circumstances are inconsequential. I needed to hear this today and apply in my work life . Great teaching for all life
Great Sermon! 17 years ago when this was preached I would not have understood this at all. Today I listen and it’s like ‘Amen’ to every sentence! The word of God is so amazing. What a blessing to be a recipient of God’s electing love
Great Sermon! This is excellent. I've had this also happen to me, the hunting I mean. I also knew their motives. I found a greater appreciation for the depths of what Christ went through while He was on earth.
Great Sermon! Excellent. Very edifying. My only concern is at the end where the speaker asks the listeners to repent and believe. Should we not ask to believe and then repent?
Excellent Must Hear Sermon! This is a must hear message, for all those who love the Lord Jesus Christ.
For those who are called by His Almighty name.
We need to be on the alert, and use His God given discernment to His true sheep, to guard against being deceived by all the false pastors and preachers, who do it their way and never God's way alone. To God be the glory! Amen!!!
Revelation 2:7 (A) "He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches..........." Amen!
Great Sermon! Behold how greatly Christ loves His people! Pastor has a way of simply teaching the word that shows more of Christ's delight to save us. This is another facet of Christ's amazing love for us.
Great Sermon! Any perspective on slavery that does not emphasize the evil of Southern chattel slavery cannot be supported by scripture. Additionally, it worth noting that both Genesis 2 and Acts 17 clearly states that God made "man". In this context, he did not make a superior man (white) Europeans and an intrinsic inferior (black or those with much melanin). The persistent issue at hand is that many still hold to the inferiority of blacks in much of the societies with a dominant European population. The seeds of racism that were conceived and promoted around the world over the past 400 years has produced fruits of evil beyond measure. Christianity has lost credibility in the eyes of many as a result. And this perspective is justified given that the church has either promoted racism or granted its tacit support. Christians need to adhere to the scriptures and not to base their beliefs and ideologies on 17th-century godless unbiblical race philosophy.
Slaves Obey, no Abolition or Liberation theology The sermon is helpful and relevant in light of the recent Southern Baptist and Gospel Coalition conferences, particularly MLK50, while some leaders and ministers call for a needed "racial reconciliation" because of their resentfulness of slavery in the past, particularly of historic Southern Baptists. Some of these have even praised James Cone, the author of Black Liberation Theology, at his recent passing away and become SJWs in activism raising much of a tumult insisting on "white repentance" in the churches and that social matters are even above doctrinal matters, setting MLK as a saint and above Scripture! But we see in this passage and sermon that slaves were to obey and respect, not resent, their masters, "both the just and the unjust" (implying the institution itself is not unjust) not calling for Abolitionism or revolutionary social upheaval and activism contrary to what is being advocated by some today within the church, who set black against white! Since respect and obedience were to be given to Masters, even as Christians, where is the place for resentfulness, or unjust relation requiring a pretended need for repentance or reconciliation which the scripture clearly does not teach or imply? The growing and harmful error of SJWs today is here clearly exposed.
