Very interesting. This is very interesting, and I will need to listen a few more times.
This is the first time I have ever heard this section of scripture explained in this way. The Darby/Scofield method is all I have ever been exposed to prior to this.
The Seed of the Woman & the Seed of the Serpent I have heard many a preacher take this scripture & rip it to shreds. Little did I know they were doing that until today. Now, I finally understand what this scripture truly means & I can't believe how misinterpreted it actually is by most preachers.
First off, Isaac was 60 yrs old at the time the twins were born. Esau, the oldest (first born) was outdoorsy, adventurous, daring, etc. While Jacob was the opposite; being plain, careful & responsible.
Esau represents the seed of the serpent, the world. He's worldly, strong. Jacob represents the church, seed of the woman. Weak.
When Esau demands to be fed of lentils. Jacob points out Esau's apparent disdain for the blessing. Esau agrees, says it doesn't matter. Jacob doesn't cheat him here. Jacob says "make an oath". Esau, being indifferent, does so in order to be fed. The world.
When Isaac blesses Jacob, thinking it's Esau, he only gives a portion of a blessing. Jacob does not receive the official Abrahamic blessing from Isaac until Genesis 28:3-4. But he does get the full blessing.
And by the way, the boys are 77 yrs old when Isaac (137 yrs old) first blesses Jacob.
Jacob does pay a heavy price for what his mother & he do in order to protect the blessing. And that is what they were doing. Trying to protect God's pr
Great Sermon! A steong and simple message. We all have an inherent need to worship - we need to keep that worship on God and not be tempted to divert it elsewhere.
Excellent Must Hear Sermon! The dear Lord God Almighty, out of His sheer Love and mercy, never beats around the bush with His Truth. He clearly reveals His Way of salvation and eternal life, through His Son, the Saviour of all who will come to Him. He provides the written word in the Holy Bible, as a further means of understanding Him, and knowing who He truly is. Isaiah 55 Verse 6 "Seek the Lord while He may be found, call upon Him while He is near." There will be no heaven for those who are, and those who prefer to remain spiritually dead. Proverbs 3 Verses 5,6. " Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths. "
Excellently Done! Dr Masters has such humility when delivering the message of God.
Dr Masters is at his very best in this sermon. I have heard some very good sermons on this passage, but Dr Masters gets to the very heart of the matter, where most pastors are afraid to go.
He asks some very hard (& all too important) questions here for anyone who has the nerve to listen to this sermon. This sermon is not for the faint of heart. Not if you are trying to be brutally honest with yourself.
There is no way to point out any one particular aspect of this sermon, it has to be listened to (& taken in) as a whole.
The brutal & unvarnished truth resides here.
The current year's School of Theology displayed the more profound heavenly components of the work of Christ on Calvary and the agreement of beauty that move God's kin to a more noteworthy feeling of obligation and appreciation, prompting to sanctification and administration Online Essay Writers
