6th - 8th July
This year brings the 35th annual School of Theology at the Tabernacle, the largest reformed conference in the UK, with very many pastors and Christian workers attending, and with many younger people seeking a more biblical and committed style of Christian life and service. The sessions are designed to bring together inspirational and practical themes in an age of unprecedented moral and cultural change. Speakers and topics include:
Dr Joel Beeke – Called to a Distinctive Lifestyle: walking as active pilgrims; the Puritan teaching of sanctification; Puritan counselling; Puritan sacrificial zeal.
Dr Peter Masters – How the Person of Christ, when reflected upon and valued, is the mainspring of any measure of instrumentality; the disaster of a sound message preached in the context of worldly church practice; and the benefits and pitfalls of expository preaching.
Pastor John Thackway – A biblical definition of worldliness, and a review of culture and lifestyle issues for Christians.
Pastor Christopher Buss – The encouragement and advising of seekers.
Pastor Chris Hand – Comprehensive Christianity, worldliness and the new Calvinism.
Rev Vernon Higham – ‘Love not the world’.
Pastor James Zenker – The character, zeal and sacrifice required for Gospel service .
