Great Sermon! Allie, your comments are spot on. The podcast does not provide an accurate accounting of Mr. Graham for his false message of works and not grace as the basis of our salvation, his being in bed with the church of Rome and many of the other heresies he actively promoted. God, alone, knows where the soul of Mr. Graham is. However, his teaching has and to this day continues to help lead many people into perdition.
Great Sermon! Mr. Graham was blameless regarding his marriage and charity monies. His message started off sound, but did not continue in sound doctrine. The quotes and clips used were early in his ministry. A complete picture (other than the 2012 one about abortion) would have included his comments to Larry King and Norman Vincent Peale on universal salvation. Also, noting his ecumenism with Rome. He also on the Today show with Katie Couric played down President Clinton affair with Ms. Lewinsky. I will not say confidently he is with Christ. God knows and I will leave it there and keep care for my own calling and election as told in Peter. You guys are balanced pretty much when you speak of people and when I check are honest. The podcast was silent on heresies of salvation apart from hearing the gospel and did not give a full picture of his ministry. Very disappointed. To say Mr. Graham was persecuted for his teachings falsely was not true. He should have been called out and not regarded once he started preaching and speaking falsely about the way of salvation. God may have saved many from his accurate teachings in the past, but how many souls lost because of his teaching of salvation apart from the gospel? God knows. Very discouraged with this broadcast.
Analytical It is ironic how America touts to be a land of equality and liberty, but there are Indian reservations across the land. Is that really liberty and equality? We should not become so politically correct to the point of blaming people of Caucasian descent for withholding special opportunities for ethnic minorities, including American Indians, but at the same time, we must reach out to ethnic minorities and provide them with the needed representation.
Un-Christian mysogynist Your "blame the women comments blaming Larry Nassar’s sexual abuse on female gymnasts because gymnastics encourages “a fair amount of immodesty†are as in-Christian/non-Biblical (New Testament) as it gets. Shame on you for excusing the molestation of young girls. BTW: You must know that he will spend the rest of his life in jail for his crimes against God.
Great Sermon! Spelling does not matter. Christmas is a pagan tradition and was never celebrated in the Bible and God never authorized its celebration.
Great Sermon! Christmas is a pagan tradition and was never celebrated in the Bible and God never authorized its celebration. Don't follow this ungodly Romish tradition regardless of your good intentions.
Really? After listening to this program and hearing the good review of the movie I took my daughter and son to see it. I'm not sure we watched the same movie. You mentioned there being a few skimpy costumes on ladies, but you failed to mention how long those scenes were and the vulgar dances they were in as well. Very in your face at times. I don't think I would promoting this as good family fare. Especially for boys to see. And also, you made it sound like Barnum was this fine upright man who was taken advantage of by the wicked woman who walked out of the show because he refused to become her lover? He pretty much led the woman on and you could tell from the moment he heard her sing he was falling for her. Just because nothing physical happened other than a kiss doesn't mean he was in any way the innocent man. After all, he went alone on tour with her leaving his wife and two daughters crying.
Great Sermon! If you're going to look at apostate country music singers, you should also look at the actual people behind them, the songwriters who often claim to be Christians and yet write these godless songs for them. Example is Tom Douglas, he wrote the song 'Raise em up' for Keith Urban, has written for many country music stars and yet professes christianty, even thanked Jesus as he accepted his Grammy award, presented to him by the adulteress Miranda Lambert, who he also wrote for.
Milkmaid Gee, if my parents had been pushing a girl like Vermeer's milkmaid I would have become a Catholic and joined the priesthood.
I showed my Proverbs 31 wife a picture of Vermeer's Milkmaid (we were only aware of his Girl with a Pearl Earring) and even she shook her head. The Milkmaid is very homely.
There's nothing wrong with desiring beauty. God is a God of beauty. Beauty is something to aspire to.
Eve was a 10 and Vermeer's milkmaid was a 5. Good character per the Proverbs 31 woman can be found at both ends of the spectrum, and vice versa.
When they are of age, I will teach my sons to FIRST look at a woman's outward appearance and if found wanting to look elsewhere. Once someone attractive is found THEN consider her character and whether she can grow into a Proverbs 31 woman. Of course, birds of a feather DO flock together and with wisdom people sort themselves out. Let's be realistic - teaching children to ignore attraction in a marriage partner will lead to misery. Unless of course they are super spiritual and disdainful of earthly desires.
Inconsistent and fallacious. What I think is sad is the inability of these individuals to make basic category distinctions. I mean the equivocations and mixing of categories. Are these individuals theonomists? I in fact hold a position very consistent with theonomy and I think the position this sermon partakes is a complete departure from the reformed methodology. Conjecture, tradition and utter lack of exegesis and meaningful rigorous examination with the topics at hand. I find it very disappointing for church, espessially those in eldership, to take topics such as these so lightly. To jumble up tattooing with the idea of legalism and not taking repentance seriously is just dishonest and misleading. I think they need to re-examine their tradition and consider repenting is the laziness engaged in this discussion
Barbies are not anorexic Barbies are not anorexic. This is how a healthy woman looks when she controls her intake and doesn't eat garbage. It's just how Eve looked (just more brown).
Great Sermon! I've had Barbie dolls... and the first ones I got, were MARRIED BARBIE AND KEN
with BARBIE in a pretty WEDDING GOWN
I've also had baby dolls as well, and gave them goofy names.
IMO, a reason why kids have such odd names today, could be because girls weren't given BABYDOLLS to name..
(modern baby dolls already have names on them so it makes it harder to give them names)
Interesting Capital punishment for adultery was for old testament Israel. We don't see the Apostles in the new testament commanding such things. They tell Believers not to divorce. Husbands love your wives and wives respect your husbands. Christians are called to be holy, salt, and shine their light. Share the gospel. We are not to merge the church and civil governemnt as the Apostles never did attempt or instruct us to do so. We are commanded to obey unless we are asked to sin. We are to decline and accept the persecution proclaiming the gospel and living it under persecution. We can appeal to "Caesar" as Paul did and flee, but Knox and Calvin were wrong on this issue and on this subject their view is not be accepted. This view is a holdover from Catholicism were the church and state are merged.
Very interesting A wonderful testimony and some sobering observations about the western church. Thank you Pastor Mehrshahi. It's wonderful to hear that our all-powerful God brought a Zoroastrian from Iran and revealed Himself to him and raised him up to bring the truth to others in post-Christian England.
Awesome Headline! Yep!
Didn't listen to the message. However, over 30 years ago, while I was attending BC, friends came from India, Poland, and other places, to gospelize America.
Sadly, when we went to the streets to give the message, we were sharply rebuked by other foreigners for how we lived out our Christian lives. They saw us as unworthy of mentioning the name of Jesus; not being serious about our calling. They said that they saw too much "religion" and not righteous living. Also, they saw us as unloving towards other believers. Church schism, not over doctrine, because of not being converted. Just religious they thought.
God have mercy upon America, your church, and all who hear the message these are coming to our shores to proclaim. JESUS IS LORD!
