Because God will have all the glory of our salvation, He saves the worst among us. How bad are you? Paul said he persecuted the church, but he found mercy. How low have you sunk? Did you help slay Him on that tree? Remember this: God saves great sinners. He saves the chief of sinners. "He is able to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him."

If you do not find salvation in Christ it will be because you look for it elsewhere. If you perish without being saved through the blood of Christ, it will not be because of a lack of power in that blood, but because you will not look to Him alone.

ABUNDANT LIFE

The Savior said “I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly” (John 10:10). What did our Lord mean - more abundantly than what? He meant life more abundantly than life in the first Adam. Before Adam fell, he had a holy life, but he could lose it with just one sin. When Adam rebelled against God and took the fruit that God had commanded him not to eat, Adam died spiritually. Adam committed one sin and lost his life and all of his children lost spiritual life in Adam. But Christ came as the second Adam to make His people righteous through His righteousness imputed to them. Christ came give His elect life that they can never lose because that life is based on the doing and dying of Christ and not anything a man does or does not do.

The life Christ gives His people is so much more abundant than the life of the first Adam. The life Christ gives is a life of perpetual fellowship with the Father. It is a life that is spent in the service of Christ not in slavish service to the law. It is a life that will be spent eternally with Christ (John 17:24). Life cannot get more abundant than that.

NOTHING MATTERS BUT CHRIST

One of Satan's devices in steering sinners away from a hope in Christ is confusion. He will cause someone to consider things that JUST DON'T MATTER. When it comes to trusting and following Christ, NOTHING MATTERS BUT CHRIST.

What foolish things people allow to get between them and Christ. "If I say that I have been saved, people will think that I am being self-righteous." What do the thoughts of other people matter! "If I were to be baptized, it would offend some of my family and friends." What does the approval of man have to do with obedience to Christ! "If I were to testify of the gospel to my friends, they would think I was setting myself above them." What does the judgment of men have to do with the declaring of Christ! So often, the confusing question that Satan interjects in our minds is, "What will people think?" What does it matter what men think! What matters is what God has said: "Look unto me and be ye saved."
