HOW SHOULD WE PRAY?

HOW SHOULD WE PRAY?

Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints. (Ephesians Ch 6 v 18)

1. Someone once said 'Prayer is the Christians breath for living' we should be constant in prayer about all things with all thanksgiving, praying always as the Bible says. Abba Father is a prayer that can often be offered up in a day. God knows what we mean when we say it. Life then is a prayer when we are in constant communion with Jesus our Lord.

2. Jesus also said, at times to pray in secret on our own, and God would reward these prayers. How long for? He doesn't really say. But surely if we talk with close friends or family for long periods we should also with our Heavenly Father, daily. To build up our relationship, this is the most important relationship in our lives.

3. Praying in the spirit, Eph 6:18. Is essential to true prayer, obviously this is hindered if we grieve God's Holy Spirit through our sinning, need to repent. We all know in a prayer meeting when someone prays and we know it is in The Spirit and it gives us a real lift as they claim God's faithfullness and promises, taking hold of them by faith. Then there's the dry shopping list sort of prayer that seems dead, surely this is not praying in The Spirit.
