Call to Worship
Glory to God on High!
Let earth to heav'n reply,
"Praise ye His name!
Angels His love adore,
Who all our sorrow bore,
And saints cry evermore,
"WORTHY THE LAMB!"
All they around the throne
Cheerfully join in one,
praising His name!
We who have known His blood,
Sealing our peace with God,
Sound His dear name abroad,
"WORTHY THE LAMB!"
Though we must change our place,
Yet will we never cease,
praising His name!
To Him we'll tribute bring,
Hail Him our sovereign King,
And without ceasing sing,
"WORTHY THE LAMB!."
(Tune: "Come Thou Almighty king")

Genesis 15:1 "After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward."
What the LORD is to Abram, He is to all his children; "I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward." The LORD is our protection and our portion. What more could we desire than the LORD himself protecting us and giving himself to us? Brethren, we truly are a kept people.
I SAW THE LORD SITTING UPON A THRONE
Pastor Tom Harding
In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple (Isaiah 6:1).
Because Jesus Christ is God (John 1:1, 14; 1Tim. 3:16), because He accomplished all our salvation by the sacrifice of Himself (Heb.1:3; 9:26), His rightful place is to sit on the throne (Rom. 4:25), high and lifted up, "that in all things He might have the preeminence" (Col. 1:18). There are several other places in scripture where it describes His THRONE.
1) Psalm 47:8 "God sitteth upon the THRONE of his holiness.
Divine sovereignty is always connected with holiness. Unmoved, our God occupies an undisputed throne, whose acts, decrees, and commands are holiness itself. Therefore, He is to be reverenced by all (Psalm 111:9).
2) Psalm 89:14 "Justice and judgment are the habitation of thy THRONE."Because God is holy, He must exact the full penalty for sin. "He will by no means clear the guilty," therefore, He is to be feared by all. (Heb. 12:28).
3) Heb. 4:16 "Let us therefore come boldly unto the THRONE of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in the time of need."
We give thanks that our God is not only holy, but also that He is merciful. He said, "I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy" (Exodus 33.19). Therefore, He is loved by all who have received His mercy and grace in time of need (1John 4:19). We sit at His sovereign throne as mercy beggars with full assurance of faith, that Christ is able to meet all our need according to His riches in glory ( Luke 18: 13; Phi. 4:19).
4) Psalm 46:6 "Thy THRONE, O God, is for ever and ever."
God is eternal, He has never vacated His throne nor will He ever do so. "I am the Lord there is none else." (Isa. 45:22). Therefore, He is to be adored and worshipped by all (Psalm 99:9; John 4:24).
5) Isaiah 22:23 "He shall be for a glorious THRONE of his father's house." The determined end of all that God does in grace or in judgment is to receive all the glory (Rom. 11:36). We will either be a trophy of grace to His glory (Eph. 2:6-7) or a trophy of justice to His glory (2Cor. 2:15), but He will receive all the glory. Therefore, He is to be praised by all (Acts 2:36; Phil. 2:6-11;).
