CALL TO WORSHIP

Now may the Lord reveal His face

And teach our stammering tongues

To make His sovereign, reigning grace

THE TRUTH SHALL MAKE YOU FREE

How important is it for us to preach the truth? Preaching the truth is of the utmost importance! We can never compromise the truth of the gospel!

The Lord Jesus Christ is the Truth. No one can have eternal life until they know Christ the Truth. “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (John 14:6) Then preachers had better get busy preaching Christ alone.

The only way any sinner can be saved from their sin is by trusting Christ. No one can know Christ until someone preaches Christ to them. “In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise” (Eph. 1:13)

The only way a sinner can be born again is through the preaching of the truth. “Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.” (James 1:18)

The only way any sinner can be free from the burden of sin, the bondage of the law, and the fear of death is to know and trust Christ. “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” (John 8:32)

The only thing we should be preaching is the truth. Don’t try to get results by taking the offense away from the truth. If the Lord is not going to save sinners and bless His people with the preaching of the truth, He sure isn’t going to do it by the preaching of a lie.

Any preacher who does not preach Christ the Truth has good reason to be ashamed of Himself. “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” (II Timothy 2:15)

A Paradox of Truth

If a man does not believe on Christ, the fault is all on him. If he does believe on Christ, the cause of that is all on God. All men are without excuse, and God gets all the glory for all our salvation. An unresponsive fatalistic view of salvation due to sovereign, electing, effectual, and irresistible grace, is nothing more or less than blaming God for the worst sin of all, unbelief. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved.” Acts 16:31.

THERE IS ONLY ONE GOSPEL

There is only one gospel. There is only one message of good news that tells how God saves sinners. Any message other than Christ alone is a perversion of the gospel. “I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.” (Gal. 1:6-7) This one gospel is the message that God uses for all men. This is the gospel that saves the lost, that feeds the sheep from young to old, that comforts the brokenhearted and encourages the weak and faltering. It is the message of sovereign grace that saves, that leads, that guides, that comforts, that instructs and corrects, and it is the message of grace and grace alone that will bring us safely home.

Here are some things I truly desire:

1) I want to know The Lord Jesus Christ!

2) I want to serve my Lord!

3) I want to be a blessing, not look to receive one for myself!

4) I want to preach the Gospel of Christ!

5) I want you to hear it, believe it, know Christ, love Him, have communion with Him, and praise Him!

These are not selfish things- they honor and glorify our Lord!

A NEW CREATURE

“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” – 2 Cor. 5:17

The Lord Jesus Christ does not show blind men how to see. He gives them new eyes and they see Him! The Lord Jesus Christ does not tell deaf men how to hear. He gives them new ears and they hear Him! The Lord Jesus Christ does not beg lame men to walk. He gives them new legs and they leap as an hart, and follow Him! All who are in Christ receive a new mind of repentance toward Him, a new will that bows to Him, a new heart that believes and loves Him. Yes, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature!
