CALL TO WORSHIP
O bless the Lord, my soul
Let all within me join
And aid my tongue to praise His Name
Whose favors are Divine.
O bless the Lord, my soul
Nor let His mercies lie
Forgotten in unthankfulness
And without praises die.
‘Tis He forgives thy sins
‘Tis He relieves thy pain
‘Tis He who heals thy sicknesses
And makes thee young again.
He crowns thy life with love
When ransomed from the grave
He, who redeemed my soul from death
Hath sovereign power to save.
(Tune: “I Love Thy Kingdom, Lord” p.188)

FOR WITHOUT ME YE CAN DO NOTHING – JOHN 15:5
The sooner we learn that we are nothing the better off we will be because the sooner we learn we are nothing, the sooner we will look to Christ to be our all. The sooner we learn we can do nothing, the better off we will be because the sooner we learn that we can do nothing, the sooner we will depend on Christ to do everything for us.

DON’T BE DISCOURAGED
Don’t be discouraged by painful or disappointing circumstances. The Lord is still doing all things well and He is still accomplishing His eternal will and purpose. Joseph could have been discouraged while he was in the dungeon for a crime that he did not commit, but the Lord was using that experience to bring Joseph to meet Pharaoh so Pharaoh could put Joseph on the throne. Paul and Silas could have been discouraged to have been beaten and chained up in prison, but the Lord was using that experience so the jailor and all of his house could be saved after they heard Paul and Silas preach. The Lord’s disciples were very discouraged after they saw their Master crucified and die, but the Lord used that death to accomplish the eternal salvation of His people. We will be much less discouraged if we would remember that the same God is still working every event of our lives to accomplish His eternal will.

FOLLOW ME
This is one of the most frequently repeated commands of Christ, “Follow Me.” Quite often men translate this in their thinking to “Imitate Me.” As important as this is, that is not what “Follow Me” means. To follow someone, you must keep your eyes upon him. If you look down at your feet to see how well you are doing, you will lose him. If you look to the side to compare your following to someone else’s following, you will lose him. If you look behind you for evidences that you have followed him, you will lose him. The only way we follow Christ is by keeping the eye of faith only on Him, nowhere else! This is the same thing as, “Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.” Not looking to Jesus and, but looking to Jesus alone! That is how we follow Him.
Pastor Todd Nibert
Things To Be Afraid Of
1.We should be afraid OF ourselves. Our hearts are deceitful. Our flesh is weak. Is there not anything of which we are capable?
2.We should be afraid of being left TO ourselves. Lord keep me, restrain me, and forsake me not. Without the Lord as our Shepherd, we are prey to every wild beast.
3.We should be afraid of standing before God BY ourselves. To not have the Lord Jesus Christ as our Substitute, Sin-bearer and Advocate before God, would leave us in our sins and under the wrath of God.
Pastor Greg Elmquist
The pulpit's real issue is this: Christ, and Him crucified. Men, whose eyes are fixed on Christ, do not argue. They do not love controversy whose hearts are touched with Him. They do not look for issues and sticky theological problems who are busy knowing and showing Christ. Those whose interest is singularly Christ have little difficulty settling all matters and quickly in His Word. The problem they see is sinners, lost and hell-bound; and the only answer they see is Christ.
