CALL TO WORSHIP
Tis not that I did choose Thee, for Lord, that could not be
This heart would still refuse Thee, hadst Thou not chosen me
Thou from the sin that stained me, hast cleansed and set me free
Of old Thou hast ordained me, that I should live to Thee.
Your love had no beginning, no cause in me was found
That you should choose to save me, a sinner strongly bound
But grace not earned or sought for, was purposed for my soul
For me, salvation wrought for, Christ paid the dreadful toll.
‘Twas sovereign mercy called me, and taught my opening mind
The world had else enthralled me, to heav’nly glories blind
My heart owns none before Thee, for Thy rich grace I thirst
This knowing if I loved Thee, Thou must have loved me first.

HOLY SPIRIT PREACHING
“Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.” (John 16:13-14)
Many people today are quite interested in the work of the Holy Spirit. They want “Holy Spirit filled preaching”. By that they mean that they want the preacher to speak in tongues, or perform miracles, or say things that will excite the audience. My friend, that is not Holy Spirit preaching. The Savior tells us that Holy Spirit preaching is the preaching of Christ alone. Holy Spirit preaching exalts Christ alone. Holy Spirit preaching reveals Christ the Savior to the hearts of sinners and enables those sinners to trust their soul to Christ. Holy Spirit preaching is not preaching about Christ. Holy Spirit preaching is preaching Christ Himself. May God be pleased to give us an abundance of Holy Spirit preaching.

If we cannot believe God when our circumstances appear to be against us we do not believe Him at all. We trust a thief as far as we can see him; shall we dare to treat our God in that fashion?
Charles Spurgeon
Look at the mountains of our sins, but grace has removed them. God’s grace is rich above all measure. It is higher than our sins, for it brings us to the throne of the Most High. It is deeper than our sins, for it has reached to the depth of man’s depravity, and brought up jewels for heaven. It is wider than our sins, for it has removed them as far as the east is from the west. As for the length of God’s grace, it is from everlasting to everlasting.
There is a beginning to man’s sin: but there is no beginning to pardoning love! Before there was a sinner, there was a Savior. Before there was a crime, there was a Redeemer. Before there was transgression, there was mercy. Before there was an offended justice, there was a satisfied Justifier. His grace is everlasting!
Don Fortner
If there were only one work I must do to inherit eternal life then I would surely perish. But all glory to God, Christ has come and fulfilled all righteousness, making His people the righteousness of God in him. He even gave us the gift of faith and robed us in Christ's righteousness. Therefore, each of God's saints has the same desire as the apostle Paul, to be "found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith" (Php 3: 9). By God's grace that desire shall be fulfilled for each one the Lord Jesus justified.

"Lord, I believe; help Thou mine unbelief" – Mark 9:24
I really believe that Christ is all in salvation and yet I constantly look within for evidences of salvation. I really believe that God is sovereign and yet I worry and complain. I really believe that God is the first cause of all things, yet I can harbor anger and resentment. I really desire likeness to Christ, yet I still have a desire for sin.
Why these contradictions? Because I have two natures – the nature of the first birth and the nature of the second birth. One that always believes; one that never believes. One that always sins, one that never sins. These two natures operating in my one consciousness. Hence my cry, "Lord, I believe, help Thou mine unbelief.
