CALL TO WORSHIP
Wherewith shall we approach the Lord
And bow before His throne?
By trusting His unchanging Word
And pleading Christ alone.
This is the Name the Father loves
This is the Name we plead
This is the Name that heav’n approves
And blesses us indeed.
Then let His Name forever be
To us supremely dear
His Name our all-prevailing plea
For all our hope is there.
His Name LORD JESUS suits Him well
His Name is great indeed
He saves from sin and wrath and hell
His Name is all I need!

NO CONFIDENCE IN THE FLESH
Do I have faith in Christ? By God’s grace, I can truthfully say that I do. But I can find no confidence in my weak faith. My confidence is in the perfect obedience and sacrifice of Christ. Do I know Christ? By God’s grace, I can truthfully say that I do know Christ. But I can find no confidence in my knowledge since I only “know in part” (I Cor. 13:9) My confidence is found in Christ knowing me. “Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his” (II Tim. 2:19) Have I been justified before God? By God’s grace, I can truthfully say that I have been justified, but not by anything I have done in the flesh. “By the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight.” (Rom 3:20) My justification can only be by God’s grace, through God-given faith in Christ. (Rom. 3:24)
The more that the Lord is pleased to teach me about my sinful flesh, the more I see that I can have no confidence in my flesh. What a blessing of God’s grace to have full confidence and assurance in who the Lord Jesus Christ is and what He has accomplished for His people.

Why should we ever doubt our Great and Loving Lord? I confess that I cannot tell how God will work out all things together for my good. I am not called to explain the providence of God but just to believe God no matter the providence. (Prov. 3:5-6)
Pastor Fred Evans
If salvation were partly of God and partly of man it would be as sorry an affair as that image of Nebuchadnezzar's dream, which was part of iron and part of clay. It would end in a break-down. If our dependence were upon Jesus in a measure, and our own works in some degree, our foundation would be partly on the rock and partly on the sand, and the whole structure would fall. O to know the full meaning of the words, "Salvation is of the Lord"!

Let it be settled in your minds that you will trust only in the Lord and keep your expectations only on Him. Come fair, come foul, come wind, come rain, come hail, come tempest, or come all the brightness of a fruitful summer, it shall make no difference to us; for ours is not the confidence which changes with the weather-glass, but that which has its foundation among things eternal and immutable.
C.H. Spurgeon
Is Man’s Will Free?
Yes and No. The will is free to choose whatever it wants. Innumerable times a day we consider many options and always choose the one for which “the will” has the greatest inclination. No one can ever choose anything against their will. Herein lies the problem. Man left to himself will not come to Christ because his unregenerate heart has no desire for Christ. He must be made willing by the new birth. If anyone wills to come to Christ, it is because God made them willing, and they… will in no wise be cast out.

John 6:35 “And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.”
Eating the same thing every time we eat is loathsome to the flesh. But to the new man born in Christ, by His choice to say; “Live” (John 3:8, 2 Cor. 5:17), eating the same Mana, the same Bread, everyday is not only necessary, required, and essential to live, but By God’s Spirit according to His will, He has revealed that feasting on the Lamb of God is the only daily need because He is Life eternal to His people!
