CALL TO WORSHIP
In Thy name, O Lord, assembling
We Thy people now draw near
Teach us to rejoice with reverence
Speak and may Thy servants hear.
Let thy Word be food to nourish
Those whom Thou hast called Thine own
May Thy people’s graces flourish
All our trust in Thee alone.
Now with joy we come before Thee
Seek Thy face, Thy mercies own
Lord of life, of light, and glory
Bless this church before Thy throne.
While our days on earth are lengthened
May we live them, Lord, in Thee
Cheered by hope and daily strengthened
‘Till Thy glory there we see.

One of the paradoxes of salvation in Christ is that it is both vast and narrow at the same time. There is vastness in salvation by Christ. His blood cleanses the deepest stain. Christ saves sinners who are in the deepest depths of sin. Christ the Good Shepherd finds and brings home the lost sheep who is furthest away from Him. Christ saves sinners from every nation, every race, every language, and every walk of life. The obedience of Christ is vast enough to cover every requirement of God’s law. Yet at the same time, salvation in Christ is so narrow that only helpless, hopeless sinners, who bring no merit or deeds of their own, may enter.

WHY DO WE BELIEVE IN PARTICULAR REDEMPTION?
Because it is logical? It certainly is. But that is not why we believe it. We believe it because the Bible teaches it. The Lord said in John 10:15, “I lay down my life for the sheep.” Is everybody a sheep? Obviously not. He said a few verses down, “Ye believe not because ye are not of my sheep” (vs. 26). The sheep are identified in verse 29 as the ones the Father gave Him. Particular redemption is the doctrine of the Bible. If I do not know who He died for, His death becomes meaningless to me. If I believe that He died for all men without exception, and some of those same men are saved, and some are lost, I must also believe that it is not His death alone that saves, but what I do to make it work. This is in reality a not so subtle form of salvation by works. Particular redemption states that all He died for must be saved!
Why do we believe in particular redemption? Because it is what the Bible teaches and it is a part of the Gospel. Omit it, and you no longer have the Gospel message!
Pastor Todd Nibert
It is unfortunate that we most often use the word hope to express our desire for something that may or may not happen. The believer’s hope is not a wish or desire for the unknown. It is a joyful and confident expectation in a personal God who has made precious promises to His children. A sure hope is what God-given, saving faith produces in the heart. The Lord calls it, a good HOPE, a lively HOPE, a better HOPE, an anchor for our soul. It is Christ in you, THE HOPE of glory.
Pastor Greg Elmquist
“Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:” (Philippians 1:6)
God Almighty started salvation, performed salvation, and finished salvation for His people in the Person and work of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He accomplished it all “By Himself” and it is all “To the praise of His glory.”
