CALL TO WORSHIP
Come, let us sing the song of songs,
The glory which to Christ belongs;
The hosts of Heav'n began the strain,
"Worthy the Lamb, for He was slain."
Slain to redeem us by His blood,
And make us kings and priests to God,
To cleanse from ev'ry sinful stain,
"Worthy the Lamb, for He was slain."
Among a thousand hearts and songs,
His sacred name fills all our tongues;
All pow'r in Heav'n and earth proclaim,
"Worthy the Lamb, for He was slain."
Long as I live and when I die,
This song of songs shall be my cry;
And while in Heav'n with Him I reign,
"Worthy the Lamb, for He was slain."

A ROLLER COASTER RIDE
This week, someone told me that the life of a believer is like a roller coaster ride that is full of twists and turns and ups and downs. I said but a roller coaster ride always comes back to the start. My friend told me that the believer always comes back to the start too. No matter how many twists and turns and ups and downs we go through, the believer always keeps coming back to Christ.

THE BLESSING OF GIVING
“Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name: bring an offering, and come into his courts.” (Psalm 96:8)
The commandment of the Lord to bring an offering to support the ministry is not grievous duty to God’s people. Giving is a blessing! Giving is a believer imitating the Savior. “For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.” (II Cor. 8:9) Giving is pleasing to our Heavenly Father. “Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.” (II Cor. 9:7) “But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.” (Heb. 13:16) Giving will never cause the believer to suffer want. “He that giveth unto the poor shall not lack: but he that hideth his eyes shall have many a curse.” (Prov. 28:27)

THE ONLY REASON FOR SALVATION
“I write unto you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for his name's sake” (1 John 2:12).
There is only one reason revealed in Holy Scripture that any sinner would be pardoned from all sin. That one reason is Christ alone (Eph.4:32). Christ Jesus was manifested to take away our sin and in Him is no sin (1 John 3:5). The only reason for grace, is Christ (John 1:16). The only reason for mercy is Christ (Titus 3:5). The only reason for salvation is Christ (Acts 4:12). The only reason for sanctification is Christ (1Cor. 1:30). His name's sake includes all these things and much more (Rom. 5:20). Salvation is not because of our merit, nor our baptism, nor our works, nor our prayers, nor our repentance nor our faith; but for the sake of Christ, his blood, sacrifice and satisfaction; and it reaches to all our sins, original and actual, secret and open, past, present, and future. The only reason for our salvation is not found in us, but rather in the Lord Jesus Christ alone (Isa.43:1-7; 44:21-23).

BUT I HAVE CALLED YOU FRIENDS, John 15:15
The friendship of God is freely given to us in Jesus Christ, our Lord. We cannot establish a prior claim to it. We are simply His bankrupt debtors, forever wondering at the heights and depths of the unsearchable riches of His Grace. It's a great mystery why He should seek friendship among us, the fallen children of Adam, the offspring of a thing called dirt. Surely, if God desired friendship, He might have created a race more noble. He might have had one which would not cost Him so dearly the anguish and blood of His Beloved Son. And yet, it could not be. That which is and has been, must on the whole, be the best that could be, since infinite love and wisdom has so ordered it. Oh, to be called the friends of God!
Scott Richardson
There can be no authoritative rule, guide, or basis of behavior in a believer’s life and home but the Word of God. Our personal thoughts and all the opinions of others must be rejected. If you want to build a house of peace and righteousness for the glory of Christ, you must build your home upon the Word of God.
