CALL TO WORSHIP
THY WILL BE DONE – Don Fortner
Father, I know Your ways are just,
Although to me unknown.
O, grant me grace Your love to trust.
And cry, “Thy will be done.”
If You should hedge with thorns my path,
When pleasant things are gone,
O give me grace to say in faith,
“My God, ‘Thy will be done.’”
Although Your steps I cannot trace,
Your sov’reignty I’ll own;
And as enabled by Your grace,
I’ll cry, “Thy will be done.”
O give me grace to passive lie
Before Your gracious throne,
Concerning everything to cry,
“My God, ‘Thy will be done.’”

May our Lord be pleased to bless both the preaching and the hearing of His Word.
A MAN AFTER GOD’S OWN HEART
Why did God call David a man after His own heart (Acts 13:22)? It wasn’t because David was more pure and more devout than the rest of God’s people. David was a man after God’s own heart because of the new heart that God had given David. David had a heart that sought mercy from God (Ps. 51:1). David had a broken heart (Ps. 51:4). David had an honest heart before God (Ps. 51:3 and 5). David had a heart that was dependent on Christ’s righteousness alone (Ps. 71:16). David had a heart that sought forgiveness of his sin from God (Ps. 130: 3-4). David had a heart that was dependent on the Lord (Ps. 130:5-6).
How I pray that the Lord give you and me that kind of heart!
Pastor
It is well when trouble leads a man to God instead of away from God. Affliction is one of God's medicines. Let us beware of murmuring in times of trouble.

COME INTO THE ARK
The Lord said to Noah: “thou shalt come into the ark” (Gen 6:18). God didn’t tell Noah to go into the ark. He told him to come into the ark. He said it this way because God himself is in the ark. He met with Noah in the ark of his salvation.
The ark pictures Christ. Jesus Christ is the ark of his people. He is their salvation from the wrath of God. It is only in Christ that God meets with his people in peace and mercy. Just as all died under the wrath of God outside of the ark, so all will die in their sins outside of Christ (John 8:24). And they will bear the judgment of God in themselves.
The Gospel is a declaration of the grace of God to sinners in Christ. God is merciful and compassionate to all who come to him in Christ. This is his word of promise to his people. Remember that once the Lord shut the door to the ark, no one else entered. Do not delay any longer. Do not linger and wonder. Flee to Christ, the Savior whom the Father has sent to save his people from their sins. “And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely” (Rev 22:17)

PERSEVERANCE AND PRESERVATION
“And I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from them, to do them good; but I will put my fear in their hearts, that they shall not depart from me” (Jer. 32:40)
Believers do continue to abide faithful to the gospel (1 John 2:28), to the Lord Jesus and to the work of the ministry where the Lord has placed them, because they love the Lord Jesus Christ (1Cor. 13:13) and they are kept by His power (1Peter 1:5).
There are two sides to this blessed truth, like that of faith and repentance where you find one you find the other. Along with perseverance of the saints, we see the dynamic, sovereign and vigorous power of God’s keeping grace, we call that preservation. God keeps them sealed until the day of final glory (Eph. 1:13-14). His sheep shall never perish (John 10:27-30).
