CALL TO WORSHIP
Come, Thou long-expected Jesus,
Born to set Thy people free;
From our fears and sins release us,
Let us find our rest in Thee.
Israel’s strength and consolation,
Hope of all the saints Thou art;
Dear desire of every nation;
Joy of every longing heart.
Born Thy people to deliver,
Born a child – and yet a King;
Born to reign in us forever,
Now Thy precious Kingdom bring.
By Thine own Eternal Spirit,
Rule in every heart alone;
By Thine all sufficient merit,
Raise us to Thy glorious throne.

WHY MUST WE BE BORN AGAIN?
In John 3:3 our Lord told Nicodemus, “Verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” Why is it an absolute necessity that we be born again? We must be born again because of the nature of our flesh. Our flesh can only ever be dead sinful flesh, so our flesh cannot inherit eternal life. If we would have eternal life, we must have a nature of life born in us. Our flesh is dead in sin so it can never enter the kingdom of God because God can never accept anyone in their sin. If we would enter the kingdom of God we must have a holy, sinless nature born in us that God will accept. Our flesh cannot believe on Christ and we cannot be saved without faith in Christ. If we would be saved, we must have a new nature of faith born in us. Without this holy nature no man will ever see the Lord. (Heb. 12:14)

THAT PRECIOUS SAVING FAITH
That precious saving faith, which unites the sinner to Christ, also unites the sinner to all of those who belong to Christ. To be one with Him is to be one with them. Loving and serving Him has something to do with loving and serving them (Matt. 25: 31-46).
Saving faith says that there is one Savior. Saving faith also says that there is only one household, one family, one body, one vine and one tree. "I (Christ) am the vine, ye are the branches."
Maurice Montgomery
“For by grace are you saved.” – Ephesians 2:8
We are saved by grace, free grace, rich grace, sovereign grace, distinguishing grace without one atom of works, without one grain of creature merit, without anything of the flesh. Oh! Sweet grace, blessed grace! Oh! What a help, what a strength, what a rest for a poor toiling, striving, laboring soul to find that grace has done all the work, to feel that grace has triumphed in the cross of Christ, to find that nothing is required, nothing is needed, nothing is to be done!
J.C. Philpot
The important question is, "Have you come to Christ?" It is not to which church you belong, but if you belong to Christ. It is not if we believe in a church, but if we believe in Christ. It is not if we go to church, but have we come to Christ. It is not have we bowed at some altar, but have we bowed at the feet of and confessed the Lord Jesus Christ as our Lord and King. It is not making some profession of religion, but if we have professed Christ to be our Lord and Saviour. He said, "All that the Father giveth me shall come to Me" He does not say you will be religious, He does not say you will be good folks, He does not say you will be Bible readers, hymn singers, hand clappers, or loud and long prayers, but that "You will come to Christ." We know that, but how quickly we forget it.
