While I agree with the general principle to marry only within the faith in the Lord, there is more to 1 Corinthians 7 than that verse:And unto the married I command, not I, but the Lord, Let not the wife depart from her husband. But and if she depart, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled unto her husband, and let not the husband put away his wife. But to the remnant I speak, and not the Lord, If any brother have a wife that believeth not, if she be content to dwell with him, let him not forsake her. And the woman which hath an husband that believeth not, if he be content to dwell with her, let her not forsake him. For the unbelieving husband is sanctified to the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified to the husband, else were your children unclean: but now are they holy. But if the unbelieving depart, let him depart: a brother or a sister is not in subjection in such things: but God hath called us in peace. For what knowest thou, O wife, whether thou shalt save thine husband? Or what knowest thou, O man, whether thou shalt save thy wife? - 1 Corinthians 7:10-16 |

Excellent points, Brothers. I was not thinking of the stars in the Lord Jesus' right hand in Revelation 1 but really of later chapters in which Angels carry out various tasks related to the various plagues, woes, etc. However, the best parallel is the Lord Himself leading His people thru the wilderness to the land He had promised their fathers as a pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night. Clearly NOT a natural phenomenon. But also, after the Golden Calf incident, the Lord threatened to have an angel lead the prosession. Instead, He answered Moses' cry for mercy. Like I said earlier, it's hard to say. I believe the Magi felt they were following a star, but one that leads to a particular house then stops? Maybe it seemed like a star to them, but that's not how stars typically operate. Either the Holy Spirit was active in their interpretation of the star's behavior or the star was a lot lower to the ground...or both? I'm speculating and on shaky ground here. |
