When I read the title of the article I immediately knew what Jim Lincoln would say. Sure enough, like clockwork, I found he was not only the first one to comment, but he shared his favorite link about forcing the kingdom on non-believers. I guess you would call that reverse persecution? Or maybe forcing someone to go to heaven? I wonder if you can force anyone to go to heaven or hell? If you can, it would be better to send them straight to heaven, knowing that it’s the better option! Wouldn’t you rather be forced into heaven than cast into hell, Jim? Seriously, it is impossible to force religion on anyone. It is a belief in the heart. You can torture someone to believe or disbelieve something, but they won’t believe it until they believe it. They won’t jump off the train until they look ahead and see that the bridge has washed out no matter how much you yell at them. But do yell and scream, they may happen to look up and realize you’re right and jump out before it’s too late. Until the Holy Spirit speaks into their heart they will not pay attention or look up. Never. But do preach the gospel, because that is the way that God has chosen to warn the wicked of coming judgement. Nobody can be forced into or out of heaven or hell by men. God is the only one who decides that. And, |
