John UK, I have read the Bible several times through. At times, my interpretation may vary from yours. And there’s a difference between indiscriminate mass murder and persecution. Persecution is the torture or killing of Christians just because they are Christians. Many of these serial murderers are just looking for a large group of sitting ducks i.e. grocery store, school, church, synagogue, park, etc, not necessarily Christians. This may be different in your country as you have been overrun by Muslims as of late. If I was just walking in the Market and someone stabbed me out of the blue, I wouldn’t necessarily assume that it was persecution even though I am a Christian. In this particular case, the man who stopped the carnage was not taking the law into his own hands nor could it be defined as self defense. As seen in the video footage he was at least a good 20 to 30 feet away from the shooter and could have easily escaped with his own life, but instead he answered the call of duty and faced the music. He was doing exactly as the police would have done had they been there. He was heroically saving over 200 people from being slaughtered had the shooter had enough ammunition. The Lord helping me, I trust that I would have done exactly the same thing as he did in saving many |
