The Church
August 25, 2023 15:40PM
“The church should be a serious Bible Institute, and the pastors are the headmasters, training the church in everything that is necessary to build it up and protect it. To accomplish this requires that he be a serious student.”
Misuses of the Law
August 24, 2023 20:54PM
Knowing the Law is good, if a man use it lawfully. - 1 Timothy 1:8-9 In these words, you have heard two points: First, the affirmation, "The Law is good." Second, the condition, "If a man use it lawfully." Anthony Burgess

Our modern age is a pushover for the shallow and the shortcut. We want to change everything except the human heart. –J. WALLACE HAMILTON
Church History

Sinful But Loved
June 6, 2023 19:8PM
“” You are more sinful than you could ever dare imagine and you are more loved and accepted than you could ever dare hope-at the same time. Timothy Keller (1950-2023)
Eternal Realities
May 28, 2023 23:21PM
“Live near to God, and so all things will appear to you little in comparison with eternal realities.”
Great Trouble
April 8, 2023 18:9PM
It is very usual for God's people, when they have enjoyed a great deliverance, to find a little trouble too much for them.
Cultural Christianity
March 7, 2023 21:24PM
According to research by Barna, Nearly two-thirds of U.S. 18–29-year-olds who grew up in church withdraw from church involvement as an adult after having been active as a child or teen.
Sermon on the Mount
November 6, 2022 22:33PM
The Sermon on the Mount may be one of the best known sermons of all time. Sadly it's also on of the most misinterpreted sermons in history. It has been mishandled and twisted in so many ways. Look for our series, Sermon on the Mount! In the series we strive to find the right interpretation and deal with all the complications found in the sermon.
The Silent Sin
October 11, 2022 9:13AM
Whatever it be that makes us trust in ourselves that we are comparatively wise or good, so as to treat those with contempt who do not subscribe to our doctrines, or follow our party, is a proof and fruit of a self-righteous spirit.”
Caribbean Sea
October 6, 2022 22:1PM
Currently I am on a ship in the Caribbean Sea. I will be back in Texas Saturday morning. Sunday I will begin a very important series on the distinction between Law and Gospel. Live streaming will begin Sunday Morning at 10am Central Time. This is a very important series and I hope it proves to be very beneficial.
Arthur Pink Hebrews
September 2, 2022 13:40PM
"When He had by Himself purged our sins" (verse 3). Here is something still more wondrous. Striking is it to behold the point at which this statement is introduced. The cross was the great stumbling-block unto the Jews; but so far was the apostle from apologizing for the death of the "Son," he here includes it as among His highest glories. And such indeed it was. The putting away of the sins of His people was an even greater and grander work than was the making of the worlds or the upholding of all things b
The Grounds of Contentedness
August 20, 2022 19:13PM
Contentedness is a satisfaction of the mind concerning the sufficiency and fitness of one's present condition. This general matter of contentedness, a satisfaction of mind, doth not only put a distinguishing difference betwixt contentedness and covetousness, but also sheweth that they are diametrically contrary one to another: for a covetous mind is never satisfied with any estate: and a contented mind is never unsatisfied with any. By William Gouge
God’s Mercy
August 12, 2022 20:52PM
GOD'S MERCY. This was . . . freely fixed upon us, is very great towards us, and will always distinguish us. He remembered us — and sent His Son to redeem us! He remembered us — and sent His Spirit to quicken us! He remembered us — and sent His Word to instruct us! He remembered us — and sent His ordinances to comfort us! He remembered us — and sent His grace to sanctify us! He remembered us — and sent His rod to correct us!

Tonight we start reviewing sermons on Matthew 24. We should begin around 8pm Central time.
You shall be without fault!
May 3, 2022 13:18PM
Aim at perfect holiness, long after it, pray for it; though you do not attain it fully here on earth. Yes, you will feel that you are on your way to the mansions of holiness! And the thought that when you arrive there, you shall be without fault--will strengthen and nerve you for the battle. The hope of final triumph and success will encourage you. The certainty of victory will cheer your heart. The assurance of your being forever without fault before the throne of God, will be to you a foretaste of eternal
Don’t be Angry
April 23, 2022 22:55PM
If any man thinks ill of you, do not be angry with him; for you are worse than he thinks you to be
The Cross Contradicts Our Culture Wars
April 22, 2022 11:42AM
The victory of Christ was won by crucifixion, not societal conquest.
Are You Deceived About Salvation?
April 19, 2022 13:23PM
Just added to the Eye on Christianity Series: Are You Deceived About Salvation Pt 1-4. In the series We listen to a christian radio program and consider how they interpreted 1 John 3:4-10. The episodes were done in April 2021, so you have to scroll down to find them
Predestination Destroys Legalism
April 19, 2022 12:46PM
“Predestination destroys legalism. If the whole of salvation, in all its parts, is understood to be by Christ alone, it leaves no room for boasting or trusting in ourselves, even partly. It strips us bare and forces us to abandon all hope in self-effort or rules to attain a right standing before God ... It shatters our self-complacency and causes us to renounce our self-righteousness. It makes us cover our lips and utter God is God and I am not (Rom 9:15, 16). “
Such a god should be derided!
April 19, 2022 11:48AM
God reigns is a logical conclusion from God is. To deny God's providence is as atheistic as to deny His existence! A god, who neither sees, nor hears, nor knows, nor cares, nor helps, nor saves--is a vanity, and can never claim homage from intelligent men. Such a god should be derided, not worshiped! He might suit the mythology of Paganism, or meet the demands of an infidel heart--but could never command the allegiance, or win the confidence of an enlightened and pious man!
Heidelberg Catechism
April 18, 2022 12:28PM
What is your only comfort in life and death? A. That I am not my own,1 but belong with body and soul, both in life and in death,2 to my faithful Saviour Jesus Christ.3 He has fully paid for all my sins with his precious blood,4

Judas heard all of Christ’s sermons.
Fearing God
April 13, 2022 10:4AM
Ah! what needs to be stressed today, is that God is a God to be feared! Happy is the person who has been awed by a view of God's majesty, who has had a vision of . . . God's unutterable greatness, His ineffable holiness, His perfect righteousness, His irresistible power, His sovereign grace!
Grace Explained
April 11, 2022 9:32AM
Grace has been defined as the unmerited favor of God. If unmerited, then none can claim it as their inalienable right. If grace is unearned and undeserved, then none are entitled to it. If grace is a gift, then none can demand it. Therefore, as salvation is by grace, the free gift of God--then He bestows it on whom He pleases. Because salvation is by grace, the very chief of sinners is not beyond the reach of Divine mercy.
Sin's enormity!
April 8, 2022 12:42PM
The deceitfulness of sin!" Sin assumes many garbs. When it appears in its nakedness, it is seen as a black and misshapen monster! How God Himself views it, may be learned from the various similitudes used by the Holy Spirit to set forth its ugliness and loathsomeness. Sin is likened to the scum of a seething pot in which is a detestable carcass, and to a dead and rotting body! Arthur Pink
Practical Christianity
April 7, 2022 11:49AM
The objects which are revealed in Scripture are not bare abstractions which are to be accepted as true, nor even sublime and lofty concepts to be admired--they are to have a powerful effect upon our daily walk. There is no doctrine revealed in Scripture for a merely speculative knowledge, but all is to exert a powerful influence upon conduct. God's design in all that He has revealed to us, is to the purifying of our affections and the transforming of our characters. Arthur Pink
What an amazing stoop of love is that!
April 6, 2022 15:44PM
The abasement of the Son of God was necessary, in order for the advancement of vile worms of the earth. He who was rich had to seek out the lowest level of poverty, before we could be made rich. The Beloved of the Father had to be made an object of shame, before we could be raised. The Lord of glory must die, in order for Hell-deserving sinners to be made alive! "God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us!" Romans 5:8 -Arthur Pink
Do You Have the Diet of a Teenage Girl?
April 5, 2022 16:11PM
I just added a message to the Devotional series. It is from May 2021. It is a discussion our spiritual diet. The title is: Do You Have the Diet of a Teenage Girl? Hopefully it will be beneficial.
Eyes Opened
April 5, 2022 9:24AM
Thus it is in the case of one who has been renewed by the Spirit: his eyes have been opened to see the awful filth which lurks in every corner of his heart. Abraham acknowledged, "I am dust and ashes!" Genesis 18:27 Job said of himself, "I am vile!" Job 40:4 David admitted, "I am a worm!" Psalm 22:6 Isaiah confessed, "Woe is me! I am ruined!" Isaiah 6:5 Peter affirmed, "I am a sinful man, O Lord!" Luke 5:8 Paul considered himself, "The chief of sinners!" 1 Timothy 1:15

Remember Your Creator
April 1, 2022 13:4PM
All of men's wickedness and misery comes through forgetting God, hence the warning, "Beware that you forget not the LORD your God!" (Deuteronomy 8:11).
Pleasure Is the Measure
March 31, 2022 9:12AM
“Pleasure is the meter in your heart that measures how valuable, how precious someone or something is to you. Pleasure is the measure of your treasure.”
False Teaching and Error
March 30, 2022 13:56PM
“So skilled is error at imitating truth, that the two are constantly being mistaken for each other. It takes a sharp eye these days to know which brother is Cain and which is Abel.”
Importance of Scripture
March 30, 2022 9:32AM
Without "the Word of His grace" we would be mariners upon the sea of life--without chart or compass!

Righteousness
March 27, 2022 15:5PM
The apostle does not say that [Jesus] was sent to help us attain righteousness but himself to be our righteousness. —John Calvin
Christ Love For Sinners
March 25, 2022 15:7PM
But the love of Christ to saints is no less wonderful, in its way, than His love to sinners, though far less considered. That He should bear with all their countless infirmities from grace to glory--that He should never be tired of their endless inconsistencies and petty provocations--that He should go on forgiving and forgetting incessantly, and never be provoked to cast them off and give them up--all this is marvelous indeed!
Love of Christ
March 24, 2022 16:21PM
The love of Christ to sinners is the very essence and marrow of the Gospel. That He should love us at all, and care for our souls--that He should love us before we love Him, or even know anything about Him, that He should love us so much as to come into the world to save us, take our nature on Him, bear our sins, and die for us on the cross--all this is wonderful indeed! It is a kind of love to which there is nothing like it, among men. The narrow selfishness of human nature cannot fully comprehend it.
Time to Spring Forward!
March 12, 2022 21:29PM
It's almost time to spring forward! Daylight saving time 2022 begins at 2 a.m. local time on Sunday, March 13, in most of the United States. If your clocks don't automatically change, then don't forget to set your clocks an hour ahead before bed Saturday night to avoid being late for church!

Plan for deteriorating road conditions beginning late tonight, and lasting through Thursday morning. This could lead to cancellation of Wednesday night service. To make up for this, I will be doing hours of live broadcasts, starting this afternoon. Listen via Spreaker app and ChurchOne app.
