Confusion on the meaning of this verse abounds in many so-called Reformed churches, whose pastors contort it to support repentance-based (aka works-based) salvation in which professing believers present their repentance to Christ on judgement day and, as one person told me, "Cry out to God and He MIGHT have mercy on you." Praise God that, as Dr. Pollock stated in this morning's Bible class lesson, "... a believer who first put their trust in the Lord upon the ground of sacrifice is clearly shown to be justified and that's unchangeable." God accepts me because He accepts Christ's sacrifice--NOT because He accepts my (wholly inadequate) repentance.
