Salvation is of the Lord. Brothers who sought to save themselves by good and relifious works, but who discovered that salvation is through the grace of God in our Lord Jesus Christ.
A WORD IN SEASON, HOW GOOD IT IS !! This is a word that is advice and counsel to such who stand in need of it, exhortation and instruction to those that want it, comfort to those that are distressed. For me, all of the above is needed for the work God has me doing in His vineyard. I'm ploughing in very hard ground!
Great love for God. I was impressed by Pearce's love for God and for the lost souls. This is a message that makes you desire to know more about this man.
Great Sermon! Thanks Don for your God-inspiring messages. I listen to what you say and I know it to be true from God's Word. Thanks for bringing me closer to Him. God bless you and your family. Elaine & Jamie.....good to hear you again
LACK CAN BE A GOOD THING !! Naomi was brought by a famine to bread; by famine, the prodigal rose from the dead. It is as William Cowper said, "God moves in a mysterious way His wonders to perform ... Behind a frowning providence, He hides a smiling face."
God Is Not Stingy !! I so much enjoyed hearing the story of the "spilled box of promises"--thank you, Pastor Mueller, for sharing it in this message.
An On Time Word !! This sermon was an answer to prayer. Just when I needed encouragement and had prayed--"God please establish me in the work that you have called me to do in the earth," The Holy Spirit led me to this message. I am now no longer downcast, but renewed in Spirit and about My Heavenly Father's business. Hallelujah !!
A LESSON CONVEYED IN A STRIKING MANNER !! So often we pre-judge others...only to find out later that we were wrong about them. Thanks, Pastor Muller, for sharing the story about the street-corner preacher that you had sized up to be a "lunatic" and how God used that man as a means to rebuke you.
Evangelism. Good presentation of the last arguments from Fuller's book, followed by discussion of the theology of evangelism of Carey, as was influenced by Fuller.
Great struggle. Very good presentation of the conflicts Fuller experienced in regard with his salvation, because of the hyper-calvinistic background of his church. Followed by some arguments in refuting hyper-calvinism from his book.
Great lectures. The first lecture deals with the opposition against the Church from outside: persecution. It presents as background the socio-political and religious world of the Roman Empire and how Rome began to persecute the Church. After that it presents the Letter to Diognetus, as an example of the Church’s response to persecution. The second lecture deals with problems arising inside the Church: Gnosticism. And the response of the Church, especially Irenaeus.
Excellent! I enjoyed very much this message. Rich in information. A presentation of the background of Fuller and his times, his evangelistic zeal and opposition to hyper-calvinism, his apologetical works. At the end there is a presentation of Samuel Pearce and his evangelistic passion learned from Fuller.
Excellent! Both lectures are very well prepared, with much relevant information. The first discusses the problem of Montanism, its theology and errors, and Tertullians association with this movement, with a stress put on the themes of martyrdom and marriage. The second lecture analyses Constantin's deeds in adopting Christianity as the religion of the Empire. Very good the argumentation that Constantin did not use Christianity only as a mask for his political interests, but that he believed that he was acting as a Christian ruler.
Great Sermon! This series on God's sovereignty was just what I needed again. I love listening to John. He is a superb Bible teacher. His is very easy to understand, extremely imaginative and passionate. I love also that his insights are often so unique. He tends to see things other preachers don't see. Here is a man who loves his Bible and his God. We can learn much from him.
