Great Preaching I only recently discovered the preaching of Art Azurdia last week on www.monergism.com His Hebrews series, what I sampled, was just solid. So, naturally, I wanted to find out about everything he has preached. One exhortation from his Jonah series alone was so moving to me, I clipped a five minute sample to send to my friends to sit up and take notice. I thought to myself, "this man has been preaching for 24 years and I had never heard of him?" I am glad to find this series and this morning downloaded it to my MP3 player. May God give us more preaching like this, Christ centered, passionate, exegetical, and great communication.
Great Sermon! Hi Dr. Hayking,
Ljiljana and I enjoyed your teaching on Economic Status of the Early Church very much and would greatly appreciate if you could send us the transcript or the Scriptural references you used. Our e-mail address is: skrstevski@cogeco.ca. We live in Burlington for the last 9 years, have five children, 6th coming this July. How are you and your family doing?
Be blessed, Slobodan & Ljiljana Krstevski
Signs and miracles. Their role. The revelation in the NT conformed by the witnesses of Jesus, the apostles and the signs and miracles worked by God through them. With stress put on the role of these signs and miracles in the authentication of the message.
Good study. Good introductory study of angels, presentation of the biblical teaching concerning them and refutation of some errors regarding angels.
Powerful! I heard Pastor Wellum for the first time at this Carey Conference.
The Lord timed this message perfectly for me to hear it.
If you are a christian "sitting on the fence", or serving him only in formality, this message will awaken you to Christs sovereignty.
Awesome and humbling!
Knowing our history. Great lessons from our Baptist history. Spiritual condition of the Calvinistic Baptists in the 17th and 18th Century. The causes of rejecting the revival in 18th Century. Baptist attitudes toward the Rationalism in 18th Century.
Great passion for souls. Rediscovering the biblical emphasis on missions, the passion for the souls of the lost pagans. Great story of a man taught by God. Very useful Carey's views on missions, on methods and pagan culture.
Rediscovering the Gospel. Useful presentation, as background, of Middle Ages, culturally, spiritually. How Luther rediscovers the Gospel. How the Reformation begins.
Great assurance. The doctrine of the sealing with the Spirit in Calvin's theology and in Puritan theology. A seal of ownership, a seal of authenticity, a seal of security. Great assurance!
Lord's Supper. The greater part of the message is about the Lord's Supper. The Lord is not present after body in the Supper, nor is the Supper only a memorial. Christ is present spiritually and our union with Him is reaffirmed at the Supper. Argumentation from 1 Corinthian 10:14-21. A message I needed to hear - I also struggle with my tradition which sees the Supper only as a memorial. For years I sensed that something is missing from it.
Jesus is God. Clear demonstration that Jesus is the Son of God, not a creature, but the Creator, sharing in the glory of the Father as a divine person.
Great importance of Scripture. A man who saw the absolute necessity of the Scripture for renewal of life and for reformation in Church. A man who, through difficulties, had the passion to give the Word of God to his people. The Word of God is alive and working with great power.
Trinitarian theology in 17th Century. Reformation brigs an christological and soteriological accent in theology, not so important in the Middle Ages. Christ is the Mediator in His entire Person, not only after His human nature. Trinitarian aspects of 17th Century Protestantism.
3 aspects Implication of the doctrine of justification by faith in the life of the believers; the regulative principle of worship; the accent put on the experiential aspect.
Problem of slavery. Believer's responsibility to do good, with special attention given to the problem of slavery. A message with similar content as that named "Slaves and slavery".
Great Sermon! I cannot tell you how blessed I was by this sermon. Thank you for the way you explained everything so clear and simple. I praise God for the men and women who so graciously study and teach God's Word so that others can also grow in the grace and knowledge of God, and His precious Son. You have done that in this sermon. Thank you.
