Encouraging Stories There is a similarity in this story to that of Pastor Edward Donnelly. In this story it comes about 38 minutes in when Albert Martin asked Pastor Hughes to bring a sermon with him when he comes to the pastor's conference in N.J. Pastor Donnelly was introduced to an American audience much the same way. Who that has heard of his preaching has not been aware of Donnelly's solemn sermons on "hell" at the 1997 family conference. SID=62608204465 Equally as solemn and powerful is Pastor Hughes parable of the Dragnet. SID=525081028165 It is interesting that after 1 hour in this testimony the choicest wines - Holy Spirit conversions stories are saved for the end. And thanks for not editing out his comments on dressing well on the Lord's Day.
Great Sermon! What an unexpected precious gift I've received this early morning of august 1, to go to the comments and see this recent recording of beloved Bro. Hughes. What a delightful surprise, plus the other messages from June I didn't know of. I am thrilled. Two stellar brothers in Christ, Bros. Hughes and Ferguson. Both of their poured out lives for Christ's church in their sermons have been like apples of gold. I've been deeply blessed to have had the rich opportunity to heard God's Word through them. This was special hearing your testimony dear Bro. Hughes. Thank you and God bless.
Great works of God. A good message about the revivals in Wales, Scotland and England, through Howell Harris, Rowlands, Whitefield, Wesley brothers, Grimshaw.
Question I am about 14 minutes through this message when you said that those on the thrones of 20:4-6 were "now reigning." Doesn't this also mean that the serpent must be bound in the bottomless pit given 20:1-3? Do you hold that he is bound in the bottomless pit?
Great lessons. Great story of this man's life and great lessons regarding the relationship of depression and faith. Blessed account of God's grace seen in the midst of depression's darkness.
Spirituality of revival. Very good study, covering the ministry of Edwards in Northampton, the revival there, the signs of a true revival. The second hour is about his wife's, Sarah's, spirituality.
Very good study. This was a very rich and useful message. How great things can God do through a man! He puts a man in the right place and equips him for battle, gives him perseverance in the midst of such great oppositions. And the message of the sermon is true: changes in society will not happen over night, but it is needed a long and sustained battle for this.
Good teaching. I liked very much this message. Good illustration of a godly marriage. And a very good presentation of the contrast between the marriages of the two brothers.
Great pattern. Jesus Christ as the Pathbraker Pioneer. What happened with Him will happen with us. He suffered and is now reigning. This is our path also.
Useful study. I knew almost nothing about this preacher. This study was useful to raise my interest for him. It was a good introduction to a study of his life and ministry.
