Great Sermon! Not at all what I expected. Much better, focusing on higher things. Mostly about Isaiah 53, the sufferings of Christ in our place. These are the fundamental truths that drive away self-pity and make me grateful to God for saving me from hell. That is more important than anything else, including physical disability and all the other sorrows of life in this fallen world.
Great Sermon! Wonderful applications. I was especially struck by the admonition not to commit idolatry toward other human beings. How I wish evangelical Christians in the US would realize that truth and adjust their attitudes toward political leaders.
Also liked the part about the need to deflect any glory and praise that comes to us and give it to God, to whom it belongs. How we ignore this truth in this day of self-esteem. Christian parents should hear this and teach their children not to accept praise for themselves, but rather give it to God.
Thanks again! Another helpful exposition of the life of David. Enjoy listening to this series and find them super beneficial to my own studies. Lord bless!
Excellent exposition The pastor preaches about the spread of sin from one man to a tribe to a nation just like Adam's sin spread to all mankind. He reminds us of the comic foolishness of idolatry and the ultimate destruction of those who give themselves over to it.
May the Holy Spirit destroy the idols that we each cherish in our heart so that only the cross remains standing.
Great Sermon! Wonderful sermon especially the last part showing us how Samson is a picture of Christ being delivered up by the Jews to the Gentiles for the purpose of being killed and how Jesus could have saved himself as Samson did but chose not to for the sake of his people.
Great Sermon! This really convicted me about my own sin of functional unbelief in my life. What a comfort to be reminded of the Lord Jesus's patience with His sinful people. And to be reminded that God has made peace with us by consuming with fire the sacrifice, which was a goat here but ultimately was the Lord Jesus on the cross.
Great Sermon! Very motivating even unto prayer.
May God richly bless all the bloggers today and always.
Made truth prevail today and God be glorified always
Great Sermon! I am nearly done this series, I have also listened and taken an exhausting amount of notes from Genesis Exposition of yours as well. Will I be able to find more of your expositions? You are very enlightening. Thank you so much.. Diane
Wonderful sermon How I wish my unbelieving family members and friends would listen to this message. How grateful I am that God saved me from the idolatry of my heart and brought me "out of the house of slavery" to false gods.
Jehovah, the God of the Bible, is the one and only God, not Allah or Buddha or Gaia or any other false deity and not the idols of pleasure or money or relationships, etc. We must have no other gods but Him.
A good warning ref false teachers When listening to this sermon I cannot but think of the terrible events which have happened in Loughbrickland RPCI since Mr Silversides mask slipped when he preached a sermon on the 11/11/2012, false teachers not only divided the flock but have devoured them, murdering other mens characters. God will shut the mouths of liars. God is removing them one by one. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. A divisive man wants to separate us from God and each other.
Thank you for teaching I learned so much from your series on the Tabernacle. Your sermons
gave such insight to linking God preparing His people for the coming Messiah in the Old Testament to His fulfillment in the new. How patient is our God with us.
I have completed two of the James sermons and will continue listening to the rest of the series.
I long to know what my Lord asks of me so that I may grow as a Christian. Your adherence to the scripture assures me I have found a valuable tool.
