One of the hallmarks of the Reformation was and is the priesthood of the believer. It was understood that in Christ, all are servants of God- and thus all are priests. In contrast to Rome which still believes in a limited priesthood, the Biblical teaching is that everyone in Christ is a priest.
This recognition at the time of the Reformation transformed our perception of daily life. Before the Reformation, life was parceled out into the Sacred and the Secular. The Sacred was understood to be things like worship, prayer and Last Rites, etc. — activities in which priests daily participated. In contrast, the Secular was everything else: buying, selling, living, working, etc. — activities in which ignoble commoners participated.
With the Reformation, this antithesis was destroyed such that ALL OF LIFE now was viewed as Sacred! Whether one washed clothes by a stream or pounding metal into a horseshoe if it was done as a child of God it was/is acceptable worship unto the Lord.
