It is my experience that you can have an ocular migraine when it comes to your faith. We look at a passage or a circumstance of life which shouts to the fact that God is in control. It tells us that God is on the throne. It says God reigns. The passage tells us that God's love for us has never been greater.
And yet there seems to be a void — all that we can see is our circumstances and the giants in the land. We think about what we aren't getting and what someone else is getting. Now it wouldn't be so bad, except for the pain that always follows. We feel rejected, alone, or abandoned by God. We wonder where He is and why has He allowed all this to happen.
However, Hannah had no such migraine. She was confronted with a calling few of us would want — the severing of her parental relationship via the offering up of her child unto the Lord for His service. And yet as we have seen, amazingly she doesn't respond in anger, disillusionment, or compromise. Rather we read here that she praises the Lord!
